yeah I have been trying to figure out what movie this was. If its the one i have been thinking of you never see the driver and he either has a cb or he is listening to the radio. I didnt watch the whole movie so I might be thinking of a different movie. any one know what im talking about? it was a newer movie made probably in late 90's or early 2000's

I really like "3" the espn original made for tv its about the life of Dale Earnhardt. its the movie not the documentary. I really liked it thought it was good

  2. Thunder in Carolina, late '50s saw in at the theater and was hooked for life
Greased Lightening showed what NA$CAR was really like "back in the day" and still is.
AG, Used Cars, The Last American Hero, Bullit, TLBT, Thunder Road, and a bunch more I will think of in the middle of the night when I get up to pee and won’t be able to go back to sleep until I come in here and post them

in reply to frank dog's post-
that was an episode of Tales From the Crypt. brad pit drove a yellow 68 chevelle and looked for the old top dog in town and makes him get this old 57 gasser out and race him. saw it forever ago. was a good episode. don't know how you'd find it though.

Man I totally forgot Dad can I borrow the car. I loved that movie when I was a kid, watched it everytime it came on Disney. The car horn honking when they smacked the baby's butt was hilarious. Can't find that movie anywhere.

Right on Gr8ness and Von Zipper "Hollywood Knights and "Hot rods to hell" to of the best! But did everyone forget about "The Lively Set" or am I just showing my age!? You can see portions of it on The Jalopy Journal. The movie not only boasts Doug Mcclure and James Darren but a laundry list of '50's and '60's notable racers. Don't forget Pamela Tiffin was in there as well, pre-Playboy, damn gorgeous and of course bored with the cars...stupid girl.

  16. Anybody ever heard of a movie called "Fast Company". It was made in Canada about 1980 or so. Had drag racers who get their funny car taken by the team owner. They steal it back by breaking into a car show and drive it right out. The guy behind the wheel pulls up to a red light beside 2 beer drinkin dudes in a Challenger. They look over at the guy inside the funny car and start to get set to race him, the light turns green and he does a full throttle launch from the light. The Challenger dudes don't even move. Hilarious. Look for it, it has some awesome funnycars and dragster racing.

Watched "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" last week. Netflix DVD. Fun movie, with the extremely hot Susan George in her prime. Vic Morrow played the part of the psychotic sheriff, and Peter Fonda was the driver who didn't know a thing about working on cars. He had a sidekick mechanic to do his wrenching for him while he gave Mary a hard time. Cheesy 70's movie, but it brought back some good memories.

  19. If any of you guys are into vintage dirt track, or vintage Indy racing, you need to find " The big wheel" with Mickey Rooney. Kind of corny in spots, but has some great vintage racing scenes.

  20. Holy crap! Tales from the Crypt. There's gotta be a dvd box set. I'm on a mission to find it.
    It was a good flix.

  21. I wrote a whole thing about Burt Reynolds car movies. It even has a bunch of movie posters. Probably some here you might not think about.

My favorites are Smokey and the Bandit (of course), The Blues Brothers, American Grafitti, The Cannonball Run, Thunder Road, Bullit, aw hell, anything with a bunch of cars squealing, crashing, chasing, and jumping and I'll sit there and watch it.
