well here it is . the lil lady wants a cool car to roll. so we looked around far and wide to no avail for something to build. one day my dad brought me just a few blocks from my house to show me and ol 53 buey. i showed it to candace and she loved it. so two hundred bucks later we proceded to drag the ol gal home for a make over.

we havent an real solid plans for it as were going to see what it becomes as we work on it. she has said she wants a chop top. and i want to bag it so it lays right, but is still able to drive( our roads suck so being able to lift it is essential:rolleyes:)

were not rolling in as much dollars as some builders so this thread might be a bit of a slower one. but i will try and put up lotsa pictures for all the jpeg junkies out there such as my self.

heres a video of were it was and us dragin it home.

Nice score. The Buick are a fav of mine, they look great as a custom, but have seen a few that have been chopped too much. When they are done right they are cool!

It is possible to chop a 4 door, its a lot easier if you have 4 extra doors laying around, because you need to lengthen the doors when roof slides back for the chop. But these pieces can be made also, my brother made the extra pieces I needed for my shoebox chop.Just plan it out over and over, and expect nothing to work out the way you thought it will, cuz it won't.There are a few of us who have chopped 4 doors so do a search on here. Also keep in mind the chop is the easy part, the finishing and details are the parts that make the job a handfull.Mine sits as it looks in the picture so I'm pretty far from being done, but with a sick wife(9th surgery done on monday) and 2 kiddies, its tough to find time.

A neighbor of mine inherited a '51 or '52 Olds about as clean and complete as your Buick. He tried to chop the top, got in way over his head, and destroyed the car. He then parted it out and junked it. Turned a nice old car into a piece of useless scrap metal that's been crushed and melted down by now.
Chops are hard to pull off. 4-door chops are more complicated.
If he'd just fixed it up a bit and sprayed it all one color he'd still be driving it.

    I'm just sayin.
