I'm posting this kinda late, but I wanted to let everyone know about a very good show we attended on Saturday. It was billed as the "Rollin' Bones Old School Hot Rod and Chopper Bash", and was held at the Allentown Fairgrounds. Running from 1-9 p.m., it was for 21 and older, with a $7 admission/cover charge.

Like others have said, this could turn into a very large event. I never did find out who ran it, but if anyone on here knows, please share it with the rest of us. Apparently it wasn't too well advertised, but was well organized with quite a few vendors, two rockin' bands (the Cherry Bombs & the Buzzards), outstanding pulled pork and beef brisket, a pinup gal contest, a nice indoor bar with another on the rooftop deck, and tons of great folks.

Not enough cars showed up, and they were well outnumbered by the bikes. For a first-time event the attendance was super, but could have been so much better with more widespread advertising, and no age restriction. Oh yeah, the weather was perfect!

    Hope you enjoy the pics.....................Woody

    Ray,
This was not the Rolling Bones Shop out of N.Y. I posted this mainly hoping someone on here would now who the Rollin" Bones out of PA are. I'm assuming they are a motorcycle club. Anyway, it was a good show, and could easily become a great show............Woody

The Ritz Barbeque/Ice Cream place (as shown in the one pic) was the icon of car culture gathering places in the 50's & 60's in the greater Lehigh Valley area. It's still going & hosts monthly cruises on the grounds, which is adjacent to the Allentown Fairgrounds. The area where the cars were parked was the sight of a tenth mile dirt dragstrip which attracted tons of vehicles in the 60's. It was a decent show, with real nice weather. A number of the vehicles came from the Reading area. Thanks for posting Good Wood (and I really liked your ride).
