Speed Week Meet & Greet Sunday Aug 9th

I've been getting a number of PM's asking if/when/where there is going to be a HAMB Meet & Greet during Speed Week so I thought I'd start a thread so folks can make plans.

How does Sunday Aug 9th at 12 noon-ish sound? Same place we've been doing it for years, the end of the pit area where the spectator area starts down around the 4 mile mark.

BobK, BenD and a number of other HAMB folks usually set up their canopies in this area and hang HAMB banners so it should be easy for folks to find that have never been.


Pls bring your cars to the meet and greet as there are quite a few I'd like to check out in person and I'm sure others would as well. Plus they make a really cool background in the group shot.

Group shot at 12:30 and I'm going to try to arrange for a pickup truck or motorhome or something high for the area so we can once again get a cool group shot with people and cars.

So, who's coming and whatcha bringing? Post a photo if you can so when I'm walking around and spot your car that week I'll stop and say hi.

IF, IF, IF by chance someone is heading out from Michigan and is willing to haul my mini-bike out there AND back for a batch of cookies or something, PLEASE let me know.

Lord willing, I'll have the heads back in time and get the Galaxie back together before we leave next Wednesday night. Otherwise I'll have to drive my daily pickup.

We plan on being out there, but Sunday at noon will most likely be getting the car through qualifying runs.

Lordy! You are still around?!?!?!?! Nice to see you post! I thought I had that weekend off but dont, as a consolation som Vagabonds are coming this way the following week to retrieve a car.

Thanks for starting this thread. This will be my 3rd Bonneville Trip , but first time as a H.A.M.B 'er. Will be flying in from Il. so I don't think you will care about my rental car. Looking for ward to seeing you all on Sunday !!

A Friday night seafood buffet dinner at the same place we went to last year sounds yummy and will give us a chance to sit down and discuss Spokane/Missoula.

Looking forward to seeing you too sweetie. It's understandable that the racers might not be able to make the Meet & Greet no matter what day and time it is. Racing comes first, we all get that, that's what we're here to see. You know I'll stop by the pits. I try to make it to everyone's encampment while there.
