Ok so I like the look of a model A spring.
But the rear of my 19 sits about 5 or 6 inches too high

can I purchase a new reverse leaf, have it "tweaked" a tad and add it to the old spring stack?

What about removing some of the existing leaf's?

On behalf of the new guys everywhere thanks for the help

How about using a new roadster spring from Snyder's or Speedway?
How about about using a T spring which has a lower arch than an A?
How about extending the frame to the tail of the car mounting the spring off the rear of the axle housing like the V-8 cars?
Many ways to skin that cat!

MY BAD the truck is a '29 (gotta learn how to type) Ok with that correction are the first two options still applicable? A t spring is a lower arch than an A?

If you are not going to kick up the rear Posies makes a narrow and lower spring that is 2 1/2 inches lower then stock and is 46'' c-c instead of stock 49''.

I'm in the middle of trying to figure this out myself. I did what Pasadena suggested and extended the frame so I can run the spring behind the axle. I'll probably remove a couple leaves as well. I just moved so I haven't had a chance to mock it up yet. From reading other posts on the board, the T spring will work also.

  6. You can also run a later flatter front spring in the rear to get it down.

Is it a full fendered truck or is it non fendered??? Could use a little more info to help you. I am running a T rear spring on my full fendered 31 roadster & right now it looks about right. Might have to remove a couple of leafs.

she's a full fendered enclosed cab with a 260 ford and genuine ford-o-matic. Old style round t fuel tank in the bed. From the top of the tires to the bottom lip of the fender measures about 6 1/2 inches so need to drop it about four I would guess.

Somewhere in her earlier life shackels were welded to the top of the rear end so thats what I am starting to work with. I took a bunch of pictures but its really hard to tell much from them.
