I was talking to a buddy and he was telling me how good the swap meet is at Frog Follies. I have never been. I have a 55 Ford F100 that I am driving. I love a good swap meet. The street rod Nationals although is a good place to see many, many vendors in one air conditioned location within a 3 hr drive. So that being said how good is the Frog Follies swapmeet normally? I work weekends so going to both requires taking vacation days and the old lady wants to hit the beach in September so choices are limited. Im not after nothing particular but I like to look and consider the universal possibilities of any part. Thanks

Oh, has the new NSRA rule gone into effect already? Post-48 are welcome?

  3. Neither.

HAMB Drags. You want a swap? Hit Springfield MO on the way on Friday. Now THAT'S a swap meet.;)
C'mon Donald, would I steer you wrong?

If the drive's the problem......then it's a toss-up. Sure, the Nats are bigger, but E'ville has a real "feel" to it, and most of the swap stuff is just that--swap stuff(and pretty good too)---no high-dollar exhibitors with the latest/greatest like Lou'ville.

Frogs-Big, but you can walk it all
    Nats-Big, but there's a tractor/shuttle

    Frogs- pre-49
    Nats-Pre-49 (until NEXT year:rolleyes:)

Nats- ice cream and pork chop sammiches $$$$
    Frogs-burgers and drinks cheap

Nats- largest percentage of innovative, perfect, cutting edge cars
Frogs- largest percentage of DRIVEN cars

    Frogs- trees and shade
    Nats- air conditioned buildings

Two excellent events--both with positives. See you at the Drags? :D

    I usually do both.
Nats has some real hartd to find stuff in their swap but with huge price tags.
Follies is much more reasonable but not as many cool parts.
Always impressed iwth the number of project cars for sale at the Follies
And the Follies has the best event t shirts by far.

Frog Follies has Pork Chop sammiches on Saturday from their local 4-H club I think. I get at least 2 every year. If that helps!!!

Is the swap in Springfield Good........

Me and all my buddies that live in and around Springfield take a vacation day on Friday to go to the swap meet, several of them have had booths there for over 20 years or more.
The wife calls it my "Lust for Rust" weekend and never lets me leave the house with enough to buy a car....just parts for the one I am working on. She has learned over the years..LOL!

Always a fun event and lots of stuff to look at and buy. Plus its a great way to kick off the weekend heading down to MOKAN for the HAMB Drags!

How many cars does the follies usually draw? Looks like it may be one of the last places to go if you want a pre 49 event.

The Frog Follies over the Nats any day. If you're looking for new parts many of the same vendors as the Nats. If you're looking for used parts the swap at the Follies is much bigger.
