So my dream of going over 5,000 miles to billetproof texas may have hit a snag I through a belt in Beaumont yesterday and replaced it then limped home. The only problem I have now is its puking oil we are getting ready to start tearing into it this afternoon so cross your fingers that its nothing serious. We will see you at billetproof no matter what(we have a booth come say hi) but it wont be the same without the van there.

Thanks to everyone we met along the way its been the trip of a lifetime.

  4. I never had the puking problem when I had Corvairs, but I know it's fairly common... do you have a oil temp gauge?

When I was running Corvans I had an extra engine/trany built and ready, cause I ran furnace calls in the winter and had to go. If it developed any problems that concerned me I would swap in the spare in 45 mins and down the road. Then when I had time, I'd fix the limping one, and have a spare again. Only happened 2 twice, which aint to bad for the miles I ran. And I guess you already know that a special belt was made for Vairs, Very HD and lasted quite a while. Don't remember who made it at this senior moment. Try Dayco, yea thats it. Ice man
