Yep, you could spit on it from my Ol' Pal Marks house,... He lives around the corner on Brandt. Here is Henry taking his last ride,... In a PACKARD !
ouch....i thought the first time he rolled over in his grave was when someone put a SBC in one of his creations.
Always wondered.. Did Edsel have children and if so, are they still alive / keeping the family going?
Louis Chevrolet wouldn't be anyone if Henry hadn't have hired him either! The Dodge boys should also give thanks.
Edsel was an only son and all the descendants came from him. Henry Ford the second, Benson, William Clay and all the grandchildren now in the company.
Cool piece of history there. Who knew that the biggest car company in the world probably spawned from many nights tinkering in that workshop with whiskey-induced ideas of how to hot rod a horse carriage.
Dunno if FORD ever built one but I had an original brochure from some company (can't remember which, it's been a long time) showing the various conversions they offered based on the "new" '35 Ford. There was a he**** & a flower car in the bunch. I can't believe they allowed Henry to be carried to his grave in a Packard. JH
