I talked to Jason on Friday night. He was doing great and was going to be in Lincoln, Nebraska on Sat and try to see if he could sweet talk his way into the Speedway Motors Museum. Sounded like he was having a great time and had not had any mechanical trouble thus far. I will try to see if I can talk to him tomorrow to see what his progress is. He wanted to make Cali by tuesday.

 

cool....wish that guy the best. ill be watching for an update tomorrow.

 

I left a message yesterday on his cell to give me a call, but haven't heard back yet.

 

FYI, hung out with him for a little bit on his way through Denver yesterday (Sunday). He left about 2:30 in the afternoon and still had 250 miles to get out of Colorado.

Just got off the phone with Jason at 5 PM pacific time. He had just pulled into the rest area at the salt flats in utah. he figured he'd go out on the flats and get a coupe of pictures before he goes on down the road. He thought he'd drive to Windover, Nv and staythe night there. Figures he will be in Sacramento by tomorrow night.

He said the cars running very well with no problems. He does have the ra**** eyes suntan though.

 

Keep on truckin Jason, you are almost there buddy. Can't wait to see the pics he is collecting.

OK, everybody can breath a sigh of relief, he made it. Jason gave me a call last night from one of our members house to let me know that he had no problems getting here. I will see him today and we'll hang out for a little while.

Jason and I spent some time today running around. We went over to Cal Expo, for some last minute details and to show him the area. Then we went over to Bruce Gossett's place to pick up the posters for the club (Gossett will be selling them at the show). Gave one of them to Jason.

Jason is one of those guys you feel easy with right away. He told me of some of his trip. Said he's picked up 5 new t-shirts on the way out.

He'll be picking up his sister at the airport tonight, and they're going to SF for a couple of days.

The tub is very cool and covered with salt from the flats. Told him not to wash it for the show. He's hoping it will stay on until he gets home.

Thanks for the post Bruce, and the kind words and ***istance from the HAMBERS and Sac-town poor boys. I have many thanks to give out at another time. Here is a quicky. I have been helping thrash to get ready for the show, running around, helping out, and being in the way all has been quite fun. I surfed today for the first time and will be back to Sactown tomorrow. The salt has all but melted do to the mist here!! **** I hate it! It took 100 MPH to get that salt on and five minutes of mist to loss it.

Glad to hear that he made it! I was wondering what his status was after he had not posted in a while. I supplied the couch for his St. Louis stop. He's doing what most of us only talk about doing!

 

Jason was awaRded furthest drive trophy ... And he dropped it! Lol

Actually he didn't drop it, the plexigl*** top just came off. It wasn't glued on or anything, so that he could take it apart for the ride home.

Just so the rest of you tennessee boys know, Jason was a hugh help to us at the show. He stepped right up and did anything that was asked. i didn't ask him to do too much because he was on vacation. But he just kept coming back and wanted to help out.

He and his sister went to Napa on Sunday and he left his car at my place. He was going to go get some new tires Monday and hit the road today. At least that was the plan when I saw him Sunday night.
