hi grimble!! the term rat rod some how was excepted by the "pop culture" very few know what a rat rod is......its a artistic expression...for intertainment. most not safe for the street....this causes the rest of us "hot rodders" concern..laws will be passed to keep the POS rat rods off the street.. looks like a nice project!!! It would make a great hot rod!!!!!!!!!

Yes the term rat rod has been thrown around alot. let me explain what my intentions are. it will be more of a hot rod than anything with a rat rod heart. there will be plenty of fun things but it will be alot more fixed up and "comfortable" to drive.

  8. Grimble, welcome from North Texas. As Chubbie said, we really don't take kind to the "r" word around here. It is not what this site is about. What this site is about however, is good people, traditional hot rods and customs, and helping each other out. There are some amazing rides on here, and some even better people. The truck looks like a good start to a great hot rod. Good luck with it.....and be carefull what you say around here, some people tend to get a little pissy.

  9. Welcome from N.Central Iowa.Like everyone said, RatRod is not a HAMB friendly term, traditional hotrod is. Good luck with your 37 hotrod. Pics?

Welcome from just down the road in La Porte City. I thought my '36 cab was going to be a rat at the start but I ended up with a drivable, comfortable and safe home built hot rod. Hope to see yours on the road soon.
