Sorry if I'm asking this in the wrong forum or if the question has been asked before. Ok so I need to fit a pair of 1930-31 19" Ford wire wheels to 1952 Ford F1 drums/hubs. The first two things I notice is that the studs are too short and that there are three wheel locating lumps on the drums which get right in the way of the back of the rim. So do I: a) get longer studs and file off the three little lumps from the drums b) use longer sleeved wheel nuts (***uming the hole is large enough) and file the three little lumps off c) get some 5 x 5.5 to 5 x 5.5 spacers made up so the back of the rim clears the three little lumps d) something really clever that I've not thought of ???? Thanks to anybody who's taken time to read this and/or help Darren
Hello, What did you do to compensate for the short studs? I'm trying to mount '35 16inch wheels on f1 hubs and am faced with the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe
Wheelkid will get you the 5.5 to 5.5 adapter, which will space the wheels out and allow them to seat correctly also.
Im running the 19s on my truck, they went right on after i ground down the weights on the drum. Im using a '46 1/2 ton though, not an F1.
