I found this junkyard saturday and took a few pics. He also had this sedan. He told us it was a 26 looks more like a 28 to me. He wanted 2000 for it. Heres a buick it had the rest of its teeth in the trunk. Rough 59 wagon Rough 58 chevy 49 lincoln Cool Car I dont know what it is though
The cool car that you don't know is a mid-fifties full-size Nash. I want one in which to travel the country... but not one that rough! Cool trip, buy anything?
Yes, but Ramblers are the compact version. It was a Nash Rambler, Nash Airflyte, Nash Amb***ador, etc. Rambler became the company name in '58. That's like pointing out a full-size Chevy and calling it a Nova. Yeah, they're the same car company, but very different models.
I almost bought that 28 and a 60 merc grill for my chevy but it was bent. So I came home empty handed. They had atleast 30 tri five chevys.JAMIE
Somewhere between '53 and '55. Edit: Make that '52, it's the "Golden Airflyte" 50th Anniversery styling. I know Rambler has kinda become popular slang for any Nash automobile, but it really only refers to one specific model prior to '58. Once AMC was formed they started calling the old "Rambler" model the "American" and then everything was a Rambler... including full-sizes. Sorry, I'm a bit of an AMC ****.
[ QUOTE ] looks like an Lincoln 2 door cosmopolitan, quite cool and decently rare [/ QUOTE ] Which one?
[ QUOTE ] I want one in which to travel the country... but not one that rough! [/ QUOTE ] i want one to bang chicks in, probably for the same reason you want one to travel the country...or did they give up on the fold down seats after the bathtub models?
Fold-down seats were optional for many, many years. Though I've heard quite frequently lately that they were never standard as I had ***umed. Oh, and there's a certain chick who wants to travel the country with me, so I think I've got all my bases covered.
Hey if that '58 was an Impala, I could really use the backseat and package tray out of it. Let me know what he would want for it if you don't mind. I really want one to put in my '53. Thanks
Oh, I also forgot. I would like to get the roof vent on the back of the roof if it is an Impala also. Thanks
That Nash might just be a Hudson, as they shared the same bodys those years, 56-59 I think...........OLDBEET
I didnt take any more pics the camera battery went dead. There were a few motor piles but maily newer stuff. and no COEs.....He had about 30 tri five chevys....20 something corvairs and a ton of 67-69 camaros. He told me he just sold a 50 Merc 2dr minus the front clip last week for 150 dollars. He is very cheap on stuff. And if theres anything anyone needs Ill be glad to ask him....JAMIE
Good find....the lincoln is a 50 cosmopoliton, or a "Cosmo" or "slabside" as the lincoln guys call 'em. The 49's had a really "busy" grille while the 50's had that toothy grille shown in the photo. I had a '50 Lido coupe....basically a stretched 50 Merc with different front sheetmetal and round, tunnelled tailights.
[ QUOTE ] That Nash might just be a Hudson, as they shared the same bodys those years, 56-59 I think...........OLDBEET [/ QUOTE ] The "Hash" (Nash-based Hudson) was a '55 to '57 thing. I actually like them better than the Nashes as they have fully radiused front wheel openings. After '57 both the Nash and Hudson nameplates disappeared for good, to be replaced initially by "Rambler" and ultimately by "American Motors."
Looking closely at this, I'm gonna stick with my initial guess of Nash, as the Hudson wheel openings were taller in the back.
Love the '50 Buick. Of course being a Buick owner I'm biased. Besides, that's one of those rare West Virginian Buicks. No offense to those of you from West Virginia!
that 50 Buick looks like the somnava***** that liped off to me in the bar last week. after i got done wit em.

That '49 Lincoln Cosmopolitan actually seems to have a '50 grille. But the fender looks like it once had a '49 molding on it. Either way, that one with the sunk-in headlights is '49-50 Lincoln Cosmo. Also should share some parts with '51.
The 50 buick makes the best sled of the bunch I'd take a 50 buick over any merc or linc that is if it is a 2 door. I really dont understand the merc thing yeah they are cool but those early buicks are 20 times better looking.
