anybody have pics of rods painted like wwII fighter planes? you know the teeth on the side and the girlies painted on them? thanks guys, Im going to be playing with an airbrush on my car and this would be fun to practice.
Garage Magazine #2. Cover shot. Chick is sitting on what you're looking for. Think there's another shot of it in the mag. too. http://www.garagemagazine.com/Pages/about_us.htm Careful, the teeth and eyes look extra gay if you get too detail orieneted w/ the air brush. They look much better when done w/ a house paint brush, IMHO. Heck, why don't you just do a search for WW2 Nose Art, rather than using some "Rat Rod" for inspiration
There is a bunch of guys in ohio with a 36 dodge truck thats painted up like a flying tiger ill have to see if i have photos of it still... we met them at goodguys in 03
There's a guy in the UK with a roadster that has/had a nose-job just like that. I'm sure he's one of the East Coast Sidewinders. I'll ask around for a photo.
[ QUOTE ] anyone got pics of rods with the teeth, like this.... [/ QUOTE ] Charles Older is not going to be happy to see that. I did a 1/25 scale Model A pickup with a Flying Tiger on it a while back. Maybe I can take some pics. Here's a couple of P-40s for inspiration. Not quite period-correct, but I like the caricaturized artwork.
sweet guys, keep them coming, I cant wait to see some this work on rods, I was thinking of painting my girl on the cowl area.
That looks good on the Cowl, most I have seen before look kinda wrong, I think the difference is the fighters seem to be bigge at the bottom where the teeth are where Hot Rods are normally smaller and busier in this area..... dunno mabee I have only seen bad ones.... but I too like the idea There is a guy I sell magazines too over here doing nose art on replica airframe parts.... had a bunch of warbirds guys going bannanas at him recently as they thaught he was cutting up ol planes so I guess they look o.k.
Thats the cowl behind the door I have Japonese kill flags and on the deck lid I'm going to put the American Star ( blue, circle white star, smaller red circle )
Damn OutLaw! I like that! Thats about the best I have seen. Like someone said, most don't look right. The A-10 Warthogs are real close to the shape of a cowl,I have seen alot of them with the teeth.
[ QUOTE ] I like them guys, is that a tractor hood? its bad*** [/ QUOTE ] Yep.This is the top and a detail of the lettering.
[ QUOTE ] WWII fighter plane style...the swazis represent how many nazi planes were shot down... [/ QUOTE ] Got a question, I was going to do that on my bike im building but decided not to for the simple fact of having to explain it to every idiot that asked about it. Opted to put the bombs instead. you get h***led by idiots?? haha -Rob

I think that would be fairly self-explanatory.

[/ QUOTE ] Pete Millar used to sell these great little,"kill"decals back in the early 60's.They were profiles of cars with the name on the side and even had a police car with the word,"fuzz"written on it but I guess he got flak for that one so the later versions eliminated the word. Here's a painted version.
[ QUOTE ] here's one from the salt this year [/ QUOTE ] Does this look like absolute ****, or is it just me?
