Dunnie, Andy was a very special young man... God took him home at such an early age for a reason, as he has a reason for everything he does... your family our still in our thoughts and prayers...

Just an unbelievable account. What a kid. What a family. I can testify that perhaps he meant more to a lot of us than we meant to him. Words escape me. I can hardly see my keyboard. Damned tears.

Thank you Dunnie. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you, sir. For sharing Andy with us. He was an inspiration to us.

That was a hard post to read, I can't imagine how hard it was to write.

I keep my HAMBAndy memorial plaque where i can see it every day. It keeps me from feeling sorry for myself after his inspiration!

    Via Con Dios Andy.

I'm sure God had angels surrounding him at the end,to help him on his way peacefully. He is safe now, God takes care of children, We may not understand the reason now, But God does, and someday we will able to find out why. As much as we miss him, these bodies are jars of clay, it's our soul that goes on.

I'm reading this on my iPhone in the breakroom at work and now everyone is wondering why I'm tearing up.. And most of these people already know who Andy was as I've told about him for a long time..

    God I miss that guy.

Chris I tried to get your phone number a few months back to talk to ya but I never got ahold of it.. I'd still like to speak with you..

I'll NEVER forget Andy driving the AV8 thru town on his way to the field at the Carbonear show. He was so proud to have HIS own Hot Rod...and he drove it like it was the most natural thing in the world.
I truly hope that HAMBers realize what a difference their efforts made to Andys life.

Stay strong Chris. Andy was one fine kid and he'll never be far from our hearts.

You know, in my heart, I know that no good person ever truly ends ... they are merely changed at the close of their earthly life. Andy, I'm certain, is in a better place ... we should all look to the day when we will be united with him.

Chris, excuse the typo's, as my keyboard is blurry right now.
Thank you sir for your post. We miss the little guy, but our pain can't compare to the years you're family has suffered together,
Thank you again for sharing Andy with us.

Andy gave far more to HAMBers than he ever received. he gave us a reality check when we felt sorry for ourselves, his battle against insuperable odds was an inspiration to all about how to 'never give up'. His humor, despite his immense suffering, shone through. He taught us humility and acceptance - how to live for the day and enjoy your blessings where you find them. HAMBAndy is THE Poster Boy for the HAMB worldwide.

Thank you Dunnie for sharing with us - your loss is devastating and I can only guess what it must be like, yet despite this you give a little bit of Andy back to us by writing as you did. In this way Andy reaches out to us through you, from that great Hot Rod arena in the sky.

You both have shown unbelievable courage going through what you did both physically and emotionally. Andy is no longer suffering and yet continues to touch our lives.

Thank you for your great courage in sharing this with your HAMB family.

I would talk to Andy from time to time on Facebook, and from the photos of his sedan build, I knew he was a great kid. We are all saddened by his loss, and I offer my thoughts and condolences to his family.

I'm going to hang my HAMBANDY tag in my coupe, so he will always be riding with me in my hotrod.

  26. Andy was a brave kid and a real trooper. Sorry for your loss, I do not dare to think if one of mine p***ed. Thank you for Andy and letting him hang around here.
Thank you to the HAMBers that helped make some of his dreams come true.
    God Bless.

I was involved in a project similar to Andy's when I was young. It was a 15 year old who 's dream it was to fix up a 53 F-100 project he had started. The club my family belonged to completely restored the truck for him. It was done in just over a month. He p***ed shortly after the truck was finished. His doctors told us that he knows that's what kept the boy going an extra few weeks.
I'm sure everything the people of the HAMB did for Andy did the same for him.
Andy was a very courageous young man, and I think we all learned to appreciate life more because of him.

**** Dunnie! I can't remember the last time I cried and I sure didn't think reading a web page would be the next time. No man should have to deal with what you just described, much less a fella so young. What a tough kid he was.

I'm so glad you had that time with him. Most don't have that. I'm sure at the time it is just as hard to deal with but I think it will make the future easier. All the best to you and the rest of Andy's family.

    Pete
