Can anybody tell me what this plaque is used for? It's riveted to the front of my DeSoto valve cover...

Don sold items like that in the gift shop of the Museum. The design and shape changes every couple years.
Big daddy use to give Hemis a wicked tune back in the day out of his shop. I have see a different type of plaque on SS Belverde which in essence made it no longer SS. Shoot Big Daddy an e-mail and ask him be sure to include pictures not only of the engine but car too, inculed all informatino you have and questions to. remember he is a busy man and time is shot please do not waste his time.
you can buy them from his museum. the originals said, tampa fl, (from his speed shop, high performance world.) instead of ocala fl.
Plaque is a build-up caused by poor dental hygiene and is only removable by media blasting. Sorry man, but that's the ugly truth...
He offers the round one and a long narrow rectangular one as well. I've got a couple of pairs of each.
