Some cool cars, but maybe its just me - a lot just look like old beat up cars and trucks with a couple of "art cars" tossed in. Hmmmm

Funny you say that. My wife asked me if there were going to be many "finished" Rat Rods at the show or were they going to have cars that were done, as well as works in progress.

My answer was that is would be mostly unfinished cars, Rat Rods or what have you.

She didn't want to go after knowing this.

Her comment to me was that "going to a show of unfinished cars is no different than going to "your shop" stuck a chord with me. We have a a whole shop of unpainted stuff. I can see that every day.

I ended up doing chores around the house all day but had a really affectionate wife that night.

Point being that, yes I wanted to go, but if you can't entice my wife into seeing something other than cobbled together "finished projects", I can't say that I'll be at the next 2010 Texas Billetproof either.

It's my money, but it's her call.

thanks for the comments. I am new to car shows from a participant standpoint. I am really enjoying my car. It was fun finding parts, putting it together and it's a blast to drive! Best of all, I did it the way I wanted it not the way someone else did. This is a great group of folks because you all see a car for what it is and it's cool that you support folks for building a car that is what they wanted and not some cookie cutter rod... It is also great to see the support and instruction you give one another so folks can built a car that's not only cool but safe as well.
    Thanks,
    Dennis
    hope you enjoy the pics...

    advice... get new wife :D

hmmmm... "finished rat rods"... I'm not going to touch that one with a 10 foot drive line :D

take a look at the pics and judge for the cars for yourself. If you like what you see come to the next show, if not there's no reason to come. Like I said, its your time, money and effort you put out to come to the show. You gotta make the choice. That being said, a hot rod show is a ton more than just the cars sitting there, personally thats always kinda been the minority of why I go to shows. If I wanted to just look at cars I'd buy a magazine. I go to see old friends and make new ones. To enjoy the ride there. To hear some live music. To get up close and personal with some building techniques I may not have seen before. Some of the stories about builds and old racing tales made the show worth the price of admission to me. I find that at most shows I go to, not just the Billetproof shows.

The short story is... there is a ton more going on at a car show than just looking at cars. It is what you make of it.

    from nowhere...

Looks to me like the Hot Rods in Texas, if this be a fair cross-section of them, anyway, kinda...well...a lot of them sorta....uhhhh...
Well, lets talk about those 50's/60's cars, huh?!...;)
