For those not versed in PA Dutch it's the August Fest held in the same place as Wheels of Time show. We went last year and enjoyed the day. Mostly stock vehicles but many unusual rides you just won't see very often. See www.awkscht.com Must be doin somethin' right it's the 46th one.
I'll be there.. this is an aaca type show, so.. no rods, preregister only (if I recall correctly) usually 2 or 3 cool / weird / interesting stock cars that stop me in my tracks every year.. last year it was this nas healy
We're going as spectators, just hoping to see something unusual. Haven't been to an AACA show since the 60's.
tHIS IS NOT an AACA show. Rods and customs oon Fridasy. Saturday and Sunday no modified cars, 1984 and older only.
The awkscht fest is a great show !! well laid out, plenty of shade, tons of great cars arranged by decades and Sawzall was right, there's stuff there you never see anywhere else. Also it's in a pretty park in town surrounded by beautiful countryside, so the drive there is half the fun. Highly recommended.
I think I'm going there on Friday, so I can scour the flea market before you guys get there on Saturday (ha-ha). Don't forget, it's $7 to get in.
Im going only to check out the flea market.I'll check out the cars also I already have a plan for both builds so I don't need any ideas.Right now I need inspiration haven't touched my car in days .Waiting on parts from speedway
I am going up on Saturday, I'll be in the 73 BRG Triumph Stag. Love this show go every year, it's always hotter than hell though.
The cars are parked by AACA cl***es on Sat. On Sunday the indivual clubs park together. It's like two differant shows, one of my favorites. Pontiac/Oakland is the feature this year. Don't forget the parogies!!
yes. individual clubs are together, but my club has trouble getting modified woodies through the gate, (Mine will make too much noise to enter, and I'm sure that the air ride would be a dead giveaway!) I still hope to drive up, as the drive there is excellent..
im goin. ive gone the past three years. last year desotos were the featured car, had my 56 there. good show if you want to see stuff out of the norm. not many customs or hotrods, but still a nice time.
I'm entered for Friday only, Its almost as cheap to enter then pay to park and pay to get in. Besides that you have your brew and chair for when you get tired and its only a mile and a half from my house.
I'm surprised at the number of HAMB'ers who like this show. Thought I might be the only one. I'll be the one wearing Pocono Drag Lodge reunion shirt.
good show but i like the swap meet part the best you can get alot of hot rod parts cheap cause they are not good enough for a stocker
I am down in the swap meet by the bandshell.....spots 4 & 5.....stop by and say HI.....brownies!!!!!!!.....stan
What is the deal with the swapmeet. This show sounds kind of tame. Is the swapmeet in another area? Through the years I have always heard guys talk about Macungi andthat is is a great show. Is this that show or am I thinking of something else?
I might take the kid down to see it....though Saturday is a busy shop day for me...is Sunday any good?????
Jack, I've been going to this for at least 37 years, it is a great show in my opinion. Still has a nice swap meet. I was going this morning until I looked out and saw it raining like 14 m'fers. I'll go tomorrow morning instead.
Don't confuse this with the Wheels of Time Jamboreee the last weekend of August. www.wheelsoftime.org
Just back from the show! (friday) It was HOT. and HUMID.. tokyo and I looted the swap meet. we bumped into chevstolac and RUSTYTRUCK wagons rule tokyo shot some video of us driving home, hopefully he'll add some shots here
