a friend of mine offered me a free 1971 elco ss 454. i haven't seen it yet, but i know its complete, been sitting for a while outside and was running when parked.

you think its worth it to clean up and sell? what r they worth?

i'm not really into elcos but free is free....

If its real (get the build plate data and decode it) and not rotted out, its definitely worth the effort

I'd drive from Gettysburg to Fresno to get it! Usually they are worth 20% less than a comparable Chevelle. This may be an exception if it's a real SS, and a #s matching 454 car has gotta be worth a lot. Floors? Quarters? 4 speed? Interior color? Pix?

Your kidding right? A free car with a big block chevy in it. Better grab it fast before someone else finds out about it. If I was close by you would find it gone in a Chevrolet heart beat!!!

  16. Being a Mopar man, even i would snatch it up the minute he said come get it! that ain't nothing but a $$$$ maker.

that makes sense to me as well.

if ya aiint bs'n take it, they will bring 5gs in crap shape and 15+ when done up

ive restored many...prefer the 66. and the '70, but a 71 is a great driver, and still sought after

Way to hell and gone more then 15K when done exactly right around here. But the Chevelle/Elkie prices have been nuts around here for a while.

Fixed up right it would be a hell of a nice tow rig for the right drag car.

This smells a lot more like a "look what I found, what's it worth" thread than a real should I go get it thread.

  21. Who cares, you have a chance to get a FREE bigblock car. It is is rough, part it out and keep the motor for future reference.

  24. You can't be serious - you are either bragging that you could get an Elky for free or are fishing for "How much can I make on this thing"

    tats a 71 he's talkin about.........

  30. If someone has a 74 ss 454 4spd elco it is worth more than the 71, a lot less production numbers and the last year for the 454.
