Anyone on the HAMB from Copenhaven? I saw 5 or so cars Monday night downtown. I was unable to stop and look but I saw a roadster, a Model T and a few others parked near Forum. I'm here for a several more days and would love to see some rides. Chad
Hi They may be on there way to euro nats in Mantorp, Sweden From 22 to 26 july. there will be lots of hotrods, vintage dragracing and europe`s largest dragracing compe***ion. 5-6 hours driving from copenhagen so if you have a car dont miss it. Rodrobb
My mom grew up in Kiel, Germany, so we used to visit her family every once in a while when I was growing up. There were more than a few day trips to Denmark- Legoland was AWESOME!!!
Euro nats from today trough sunday at Mantorp Park. I got a telephone earlier today, as some friends of mine are racing in a vintage drag cl***. Lagest field of front engine dragsters ever in europe, and the sun was finally shining! Check out this site, www.svda.se ............................................. Taildragger&fenderless
I live about 10 minutes from Forum in Copenhagen. I got a 1933 Chevrolet Master, which is turned into a pickup. Tho its not a "traditional hotrod" its pretty fun. It legal in denmark, and atm I'm the only one that have a ride like mine as far as I know. Its a ratrod, with a B20, Volvo engine, volvo ch***i, and a bunch of other stuff. Write a pm if you want to know more
Hi Chad, I am a 15 minute drive from Forum, Copenhagen. We are leaving for a German event this weekend, but if you are still here next week (monday, tuesday?) I'd be glad to meet up. It would probably be hard to stir something up, being in the middle of most peoples vacations, but we could take a ride to our garage some 30 minutes outside Copenhagen. We do have a couple of Deuces, 49 Cad, 49 shoebox. Just let me know....... or give me a call - just dial 20 96 44 69 (from a danish phone) or send a text/PM. Best regards, Thomas
Thanks for the great response. Truth be told, I am in in Copenhaven working for a certain heavy metal band that has a Danish drummer playing five nights total at Forum. Seems like I am missing a lot of cars on account of the Euro NATS you all are talking about. Wish I could go. We have to jet off to Finland this weekend but might have time to hang on Sunday night. Otherwise, I am stuck at the gig working Monday and Tuesday. Seems like GEARHEAD_DK might be my hookup for a quick ride in old iron. Whaddya think? Gearhead-DK PM me if you cats might be around Sunday night. Otherwise, have good holidays. Thanks All, Chad
You bet! We are looking forward to it...... allways exciting trying something new. We were wondering the other day, is this the first year for Rust 'n Dust?
Hi Chad Thomas' (Gearhead-DK) girlfriend here! One of my collegues went to the concert in Forum last night. She said it was great... and now I checked out the tour dates and the jetting off to Finland makes sense now. I hope you and Thomas can work something out for Sunday night and we can meet up at his garage. I'll dig out my p/u truck for it..
Thomas the track is about 75 years old, but it's first time that they let cars race the gr*** track. Big honor for the hot rod crowd.
Hi Chad Nice rod I have a backyard shop 300 ft from Forum !! . working on old Harleys and Indians. You are more than welcome to drop by if your ears need a rest. I´ve always got coffee on the can and beer in the cooler. My 1939 Mercury coupe was imported from Denmark in the early 90's and was probably sold new in Denmark, not that i want to make you Danish guys (and girls) jealous. Greetings from the Netherlands
Allen, Sent you an e-mail. Can I get your address? I'll try to walk over and see your shop on Tuesday. Chad
Thank you Copenhagen for the hospitality! I will post some pictures of my visit and a short story tomorrow.
Hey Chad Thanks for a cool afternoon and evening. So good that you had a good stay i Copenhagen Hope to se you again in the shop, you are always welcome. See you next time Allan
Chad, You are welcome anytime..... we had a great time with a likeminded HAMBER ! Next time though, have time for an event ;0) Could have been cool to have taken you to Rust 'n Dust in Germany Thanks and take care Thomas
Morten is in Viborg, some 200 miles from Copenhagen. He is the coolest hot rodder you'll find and a great guy to boot. We allways try to be as open and friendly as the people we have met on our trips through the US
So, after being out of the US and away from home for nearly four weeks, I was jonesin' for some hot rods. The Copenhagen Crew really came through. GEARHEAD-DK and Mette picked me up at my hotel on Sunday evening on their way back from Rust-N-Dust in Germany. We drove out of city through the Danish countryside in the '49 Caddy to pick up Mette's F1, then over to Thomas' garage to check out his '32. Everyone was super nice and I had a blast. Thank you all very much.
Chad, glad we could help you out with a breath of fresh air and a break from hotels and cab rides. I enjoyed the story swaping! I got a few shots from the garage too. Unfortunately I was too slow to catch you crawlin' around on the floor under the tudor.
