Man two or three other people said the same thing I was going to say. Make it a G***er style. It would be unique.

Wonder how it'd look with no fenders, and an earlier Ford grille? that'd confuse people....

  9. This car is just plane beautiful and is too nice to really hot rod or even customize. Tastefully put modern running gear, steering, brakes and tires in it (saving the original pieces) and make it a "period rod" that is safe to drive on 2009 roads and highways. Finally, please, please, please leave that beautiful body as Nash designed it. There are just too few of these pieces of rolling history left.

  11. G***er??? yeah thats original... That thing is already close to being a nice custom,
already has built in skirts, lower it some, debadge it, pull in the bumpers, clean up some of the lines and your done! heck even the caps and rings might work. easy and some what cheap driver...
I think "g***er" is becoming the new "rat rod.".. sad thing is I really wanted to build a '53-'54Ford tudor as a c/g***er like a friend raced at Lions in 1964, to pull behind the wagon, but when I saw a '66 Galaxie with a straight axle and a bunch of carbs sticking out of the hood and a big AA/GS on the side I was outa the mood.. I think it might have even been a four door...

Set the visor down about 45 degrees, put every conceivable extra just like lowrider bomb. Bet randingo8 of Style Kings could make something cool out of it.

if i could get my hands on a nash, i would build it just like this! :D

  15. If you do go g***er, "Nash Can" should be what's emblazoned on the sides. I guess thats what some wags called them back in the day, instead of trash can..

Hmmm?? A "Kenosha Cadillac"! How about a 360, 390 or 401 AMC engine
to keep it kind of 'in the family'? I probably wouldn't build it real radical and
instead, engineer it more along the lines of a 'cruiser'. You could end up with
a pretty nice driver and it'd definetly be different. One thing to check for before
you get too far into the project is the underside of the car. From about '40 or
'41 on up, Nashes were all uni-body construction.. Make sure that the car's
not all rotten underneath or you could end up with a lot more work, expense
and aggrivation than you bargained for. Also, the fact that it's a uni-body is
another reason not to go too wild with the engine and drivetrain.

Dang, I could see that with a Merc Grille.... could look pretty sweet. Nose the hood a bit and slam it, or maybe turn it into a g***er.

Small block mopar (318/340/360) fits in the bay quite well, helped a friend
do it to his about 20 years ago, along with a 904 T/flite. No issues of any
consequence come to mind, made a great cruiser.

Actually the only thing im not too keen about is the stock front end, but its actually not much of a problem to graft an era correct one instead, just like this green one up here. The photochop of the black one is good, if you keep it simple w/ just stance and front end you end up w/ a very original ride. If its not a unibody go for it w/out thinkin to much about it! I would.

Whoa...a bomb would be pretty sweet. I like that better than a g***er, paint it root beer candy, or really deep red candy...and lots and lots of chrome...a mild hydrualic set up...Buick wires, white walls, long antennas frenched into the rear fenders, and all the accesories..plus some. And then even though it doesn't fit the "bomb" or "custom" theme throw a 401 AMC under the hood with a few nice mods, and an auto trans..

A bomb would be a better than a g***er build, IMO. Car looks good either way, though.
