I bought these head lights thinking they were 1935 ford head lights with the boob lenses. When I got them they were flat faced lenses(CRAP!!). Does any one know if these can be changed easily to the boob type leans? thanks
Yes, because the bucket is the same, only the mounting stud and related hardware is different. The ones you have with the long studs are for '35 car and '38-'39 truck, the ones with the real short stud are '36 car. I have '36 lenses and rings on my '38 pickup. The lens retainer rings are different, you have to use the '36 ring with the '36 lens and '35 car/'35-'39 truck ring with that lens.
there should be a tab on the top on the light bucket the other lens/trim fits over thant and the is a tab on the bottom that the stainless spring loaded job fits, kinda like a slit tab
Yep, I'll second what 38fordpickup said... What are you puttin' them on? I'm usin' '36s on the 34 coupe. Smokey
I have a '35 Chevy Standard two door. I'm going to put a flat head ford in it with bomber seats. No chop though. I'm 6'2", with a bad back, I don't think I can handle that low of a ride. I wish I could though. I know, I know, a Ford engine in a Chevy car. Thats why I'm going to call the engine BLASPHEMY and the car SACRILEGE. I hope I spelted it right. As for the head lights, you know I just can't go wrong with big boobs <!-- / message -->
bob drake sells the headlight rings & lenses, not sure you can get the shorter mounting bolts but not sure you will need them. the only reason the '35s have a longer mounting bolt is the lights sit on a little riser on the fenders, 36s dont have these risers
