are there any other colors? i think black is way over done. also house of kolor makes a flattening agent you can add to your paint which gives it that satin or flat look

I just used a gal of single stage black and a qt. of flatner.
    Looks good to me.

Buddy of mine used John Deer blitz black like 35 bucks a gallon but it was a bit too shiny for my tastes

John Deere paint is super cheap and looks good.
A buddy of mine has sprayed 3 cars with it over the past few years. Goes on smooth, but it's kind of semi-gloss. But they also sell it in a flat and a glossy. Seems durable as all get-out. I used flat black single-stage enamel on my car and his look better than mine.

Tried the Eastwood stuff, I don't know if I got a bad batch, but I was horrible. I bought it to use on the inside/underside of a couple of roadster bodies that I was doing to try to offset the cost of the usual SEM or Dupont products I'm used to. Ended up doing it twice, so definatley no savings in the long run. The product had poor coverage and was " chunky". Tried refiltering it a few times but seemed to want to give me a textured/dirty finish. Again, maybe it was just a bad batch, haven't tried it again.

tractor paint is for tractors, just go to your local paint store and get whatever color single stage you want, add 25% flattening agent. Presto. It'll have UV protection. Look better. Hold up well. Cheaper than hot rod flatz.

The last two rides I painted hot rod black I used duponts Hot Hues hot rod black. It's the best that I've found, Yes it's high dollar 80 bucks a qt. and 40 bucks for the pt. of cat. but you can paint a whole truck or car with 2 qts. Have not tryed B/C with flatner in the clear, But thinkin about it. Maybe someone that has will chime in. Alot of the hot rod blacks I've used are hard to keep from streeking.

cost about 7 bucks to ship for 100 bucks.

2 quarts will do a s10, soo a medium size car would be about 2-3. not to mention the quality is better.

Base coat would already be flat. Now single stage with flattener. That's what you do, that is exactly what Hot Rod Flatz is.

just go to your local paint jobber the all carry cheaper brands [ economy paint] and they can add flattener to any paint brand and if you think 100 to 150 for a gallon is too much the last paint bill for 62 impala bc\cc in ppg concept red 2gal color 2 gal clear, was$ 2300
now under stand this is a full frame off ...but this real world pricing..nothing wrong with trying to save money , but the first thing you see on a car is the paint
just my input we go through this every day at my shop
thanks john at MIZERVILLE KUSTOMS 865 456 6884

Im not overly concerned with looks, I just want to seal it so my sweat from working on stops making rust spots on the primer I have to fix. That and I want to do touch ups on it as I do the body work. Thanks for all the input. The coupe with the Eastwood looked good to me so I have no problem going with it.

    from nowhere...

My friend, and club mate did his sign shop truck with it...looks just fine to me, half the price.
He said he didn't mind spraying it, or have any problems at all...

The base coat has no UV protection in it, It's not the same as single stage paint with flatner in it.
