Primes will chalk, this is not ment to be a final topcoat. It would look good for a while. If I was going to just leave it in primer I would use epoxy. What were all try to look like is the old hot rods, and that was just lacquer primer, were just lookin for the look with UV protection.

  3. Single stage with flattner like Zman said or just spray singlestage and scuff with compound. I have done both.

PPG sells an industrial line that is called Urotech. I paid $50/gal for the paint before hardner and such.........

Update. Shot it...not impressed, kinda blotchy. I did have some dust issues, which were my fault. Im gonna wet sand the panels with some issues and re spray them. Looks better than a rattle can job but not by much. Ill have finished product pics Wednesday.

a regular paint guy friend of mine shot my 38 chevy with hot rod flatz midnight blue last night. first time user, worked out the minor kinks, like pressure, which gun to use, etc., and said it shot like primer. would definitely shoot this paint again. the car has a saitn finish, which is what i was going for. the one thing he said was to put the second coat on heavy to the point where you think it is going to run. car looks good. now its on me to put it back together.
