At one point I had over 100 of the 25th Anniversary and Vintage Collection redlines that came out in '93-94. I had almost every colour of every casting available. Some of my old collecting buddies thought I was nuts...one evening I spent an hour or two "liberating" them from the blisters. The Hot Heap and the '36 Ford Coupe in my pics above were also removed from the cards, but the packages were in poor shape so I didn't feel too guilty.

i buy the hotrod or custom hotwheels, and carry them around in my bucket, and hand them out to kids that show an interest in my rod. my .96 cent investment in the future of this lifestyle. they sparked my interest as a kid, hopefully it will spark theirs.

  4. I had a few hundred, nice and packed in boxes in the basement, I've found that I got more enjoyment out of them watching my little guy rip them open and play with them. He loves them and I would like to think he'll be a "car guy"later in life.

I was just at Wally world, and for a while they were making some cheesy stuff, but it looks like they've got some real car guys back in there. I really like the ones that just came out bought three,The new ones look like the ones i played with in the seventies. :D I bought the dirt rat,bad name and bad series, team rat rods? but it's a 32 with dual engines, I think i've seen the real one on here, for you buick guys, not traditional, but one of the baddest buicks of recent times, 82 grand national, and for those of you who are into vintage datsuns, they have the 69 bluebird 510 in race trim out now. the granddaddy of all the high performance datsun stuff. They seem to have a lot of traditional rods out now, as well as hotwheels having a lot more of their own creations, like they used to.

My boys and I are collectors of Hot Wheels and just about every other die cast car out there. Between the 3 of us, we have a tad over 5,000 vehicles. The boys are big into the NASCAR thing, while I'm into anything gasser or altered related. Doin' some quick math, I figured with what I spent on these things, I would have had my T-bucket done about three times over! But, you know how it goes, they keep making cool ones and ya just gotta have 'em!!

bump if anyone has a picture of one of the power boosters from the 70's., they looked like buildings with an orange roof and stickers on the sides, you had a lever that controlled how fast the rollers inside would shoot out the car. the orange track connected directly to them.

  14. #### Got 2 of them just not a pic but I'll get back 2 ya on that >>>>.

Hot Wheels. I have about 2500 of them including about 40 Treasure Hunts.

They have taken over one of the garages.

These pictures have been on here before but one more time won't hurt.

If you have Hot Wheels and store them in boxes you are a hoarder.

If you have Hot Wheels and have them on display. You are a collector.

yea i had all that, i had huge wooden barrels of orange track, my mom up in ohio sold it all at a garage sale for like 20 bucks, we used to set it all up with the track running out the second story window, then see how far we could jump the cars out the window.I think I just reverted to being five again back in the seventies. I had all the loop stuff, the double banked turns the whole deal.

I'm thinking about selling some to buy a Chopper........... I'm not really trying to solicit here as that wouldn't be right........LOL, just thinking out loud (and trying to convince myself to do it).

  20. From what I see there, after a couple of weeks on ebay, you will have enough to build that chopper....

Yup, I collect them, too. I unloaded a lot during my divorce. One of these days I'll post pics of my cobra collection.

Cool. Ya, I Started collecting seriously about 15 years ago. Still have a lot of my old ones (pretty thrashed though). I am looking for an orange 1940 woody that was part of the "sky jacker" series. You could lift the ass end up by holding the rear wheels and pulling on the car body. Anyone have one in the package and want to trade or sell?? This is a newer one, but it's the exact same body style, just orange and is part of the sky jacker series.
At least I think they were called SKy Jackers. Damn my memory sucks when I'm at work and I haven't had any beer yet...JEEZ!!!

You're thinking of the ones called "Hi-Rakers". I used to have a bunch of those but sold them all when I liquidated my collection.

I have a tad over 10k of them stored away. Collected them for about 14 years.

  28. I was born in 1968, and the first hot wheels that I got came from a little convenience store just down the block. Nothing but redlines!

Methinks it had a lot to do with my car addiction
