Dang it. I read this at work today about 11am. Had to make a quick trip to the bathroom and hideout while I cried for a while. Nobody here will ever forget about him or this post.

  3. I wear my HAMB Andy shirt proudly. Your son won't be forgotten. What a special guy.

Didn't know of Andy untill after he p***ed. After reading this, I wish I'd known him better. You're a hell of a man for raising a son like that. God bless you and your family.

    Dunnie:

That is the most touching post that I have ever read here, I'm in tears. I was impressed with Andy's courage but now I am doubly impressed. What a kid, we all loved him and cared for him. He is in a better place and no longer suffers.

Getting to know Andy and going through that whole process with him and his family was a huge honor to me. Thanks for painting this picture of his last moments - a really sweet way to go. All families should be this loving...

  19. Thank you for posting this, it couldn't have been easy to type it out, let alone live through it. Like so many of the other guys have said, I've got tears rolling down my cheeks.

You must be very proud to have a son like Andy, I'm proud just to have my name on his dashboard.

All the best to you and your family.

  20. I read a little when this first cam up, I had to come back to it as it is so hard to read.
I am so glad he had his family with him, it all right though there are many old hot rodders in heaven to continue his p***ion.

    Doc.

RIP buddy, Thanks for sharing Dunnie...Your son lives on forever with those of us he inspired, he wasn't just a kid to us...he was our little brother, our mentee, the next hot rod generation...in reality, we as a collective whole, were far more touched by him...Hes throwing gears with the Big guy...laying the perfect set of stripes on those streets of gold...

It's not very often that one's purpose in life can be defined but in Andy it was obvious. One boy, put on this Earth, an innocent victim of a horrific disease, touched thousands of lives. All of us that were connected to Andy in our own way will forever be enrichened by his spirit. He humbled us all.

    Godspeed Andy Dunn.
