The 2009 Santa Clara Fair starts tomorrow and they are looking for hot rods and customs. No real year cut-off as of yet. This is the same venue where the San Jose Auto-Rama happened in the '50s. Me and a half dozen or so Strangers will be there on Saturday. They are offering indoor and outdoor parking. Security, etc. I know it's short notice, but if you where planning on going to the fair anyways, drag out that old ride and get in for FREE! The contact person is Mike McBride, send me a PM and I will get you his contact info. He just got the OK to put on the car show last Monday, could be they reason your hearing about it here first. The web site is www.thefair.org come out and support the 4-H and the youth groups. Plus all the rides and midway "carny" folk! If it goes over well, he plans on doing a full indoor "Big Show" next April. So come out and hang. It's FREE!
Chris - I did not want to post his phone number on the internets... I will send you a PM with his number. His hame is Mike. Seems like a good guy trying to do the right thing for the bay area car scene, that's why I posted this thread and am trying to get him some support. I think that since we lost the GNRS to So-Cal and me not being a big fan of the Oakland Rod, Custom, Motorcycle show due to some changes that have occurred over the last year or two. The Bay Area needs a "REAL" indoor Traditional Hot Rod and Custom show, Mike seems like the guy who could actually pull it off. I have a feeling he is doing it for the love, not the dollar! If you get my drift. Rant over, PM on it's way.
