how does the oil get to the rocker shafts on my y-block

    Is it recomended to run a zinc addative in these motors?

    I dont know if any one metioned it but the big top end oil problem is due to the cam bearings spinning and blocking the holes, normally when a machine shop installs after market cam bearings they are installed with much closer tolerances so the problem is not there anymore. The common fix back in the day was running a T on the front of the motor with a line going under each valve cover instead of having to repair a new motor.

    You don't need to if you run a dielsel oil or a 10-40 or 20-50 oil. Plenty if ZDDP in these oils.
