One month till Bonneville speed week...Who's counting days?

Has anyone camped at the bend in the road by the track? Do alot of poeple camp at this location? We are coming from Sturgis bike week with our toyhauler and we are fully self contained. This will be our first time at Bonneville. Is it possible to use a golf cart to get to the track from bend in the road camping. Thank for any help.

 

How fast is your golf cart? it's a few miles across the salt....

There are quite a few people camping at the bend, everything from sleeping in cars, to tents,, little trailers, to bigass motorhomes.

Damn, my wife said that we are leaving next week and I was like shit up......holy shit!!!

I am not sure if I am ready for this but I better be when the time comes!! I may not get in til later on Friday because I want to check out SLC a bit.

My club and I should all be rolling in around 8 p.m. friday night if everything goes smoothly. I should be finished wiring my new 38' ford pickup by this weekend so that should give me a few days to drive the bugs out of it before the journey across the desert.

 

Leaving here on the 7th, camping at the bend in the road just up the hill.

 

I,m supposed to be going and crewing but due to the storm here last week that fucked my house up it looks like I might have to miss this year.It sucks

BTW-I've got an empty trailer headed back east if someone needs some transport help.

 

It will be my second time at speed week. I hope to meet a lot of HAMBers.

Spent yesterday afternoon and today in the Colorado Springs area. Up Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and a bar burger in the mining town of Victor. Heading towards Durango tomorrow. Had a curator guided tour of the Speedway Museum Thursday morning for me and my pal.

In case anyone hasn't heard yet, Chauvin Emmons passed away on the 1st. His racing team is still going to Bonneville and his son will be driving. Anyone who wants to stop by the pit and pay their respects is more than welcome. Sad news for sure. RIP Chauvin. You will be missed.

 

plane is leaving in a few hours. Beer at the airport, a short vegas trip, and then arrival at Bonneville salt flats noonish on friday. Cant wait.

I have never been before. Is any thing happening on Friday the 7th or does it all start early on the 8th. (how early??)

Any size limit on pit bikes? (yz 80) Is a spectator allowed to have a pit bike?

I am think of leaving on Thursday the 6th and driving through the night to be there on Friday for the weekend. Thanks Mike
