Hay man if you are going with a small block you may want to conceder a 409 or correct me if I am wrong a 348 witch is the smaller 409 that is readily available. I am not a Chevy guy but I have seen them in wrecking yards in old Chevy and GMC trucks a little harder to find and about the same cost as a 327 or 283 .but you will have those cool hump heads (ok Chevy guys correct every thing I just said)

Just got in from the garage today. Man was it hot....Got my rear suspension all finished now its totally adjustable so I can actually make use of the 8 inch Z that I have. Got the new lower coilover "adjustable" mounts welded on. Shocks are on the highest mount right now until I get my channel all fixed but the stance is ALOT better now!!! Still can go way lower. Whats the best way to cut the rear panel to give the rear end more clearance??? Got the body moved back another 1-2 inches to where it needs to be. Got all the measuring done for the steering. Long day in the garage was well worth it and my dad came over to lend a much needed hand...the littleman came out and helped alot too! Going to get metal for my floors and some "structural" reinforcement this week. When my pete and jakes front headlight/shock mount combo and chrome shocks come in I will get started on that. Got alot of work done today....

Man, that stance is PERFECT...shit, I wouldn't change a thing...

Once you put a motor up front, and some weight on that spring...hell yeah!

is it just me, or does the car look a lil long? maybe just cuz the engine bay is vacant?

What is the stock frame length? I was told this frame was to stock specs length wise. I think ALOT of it has to do with the fact that there is no drivetrain at all......I love the new stance..I still have to bring the body up a couple inches to even out the channel and then drop the rear suspension to make up for it. It will look good when its done. Also the grill shell is just there for mock up its not mounted at all so dont gig me on how high its sitting

Stock for a Model A is 104, you look like you got about 6 extra. No big deal. As long as you like it who cares.

Looking really good with the wheels and tires on!
Engine bay looks long to me...
What is the measurement from the firewall to the grill shell on a model A?

So measure from where to where to see what the wheel base looks like? What should the overall frame length be? Im trying to figure out the length if not there may be some changes to be made. Let me know

As far as overall frame length, you should find it doing a search, but, if not, I have a stock length frame I can measure in the a.m....
Someone should chime in with it...
Plenty of Model A peeps on here.

Ya be different and go with a BLUE OVAL SBF. Thought it doesn't have to be small internally. Stance looks good as it is now and the top height is fine. Are you going to have any ladder brackets on it? :p

Im still browsing for drivetrain...like everyone says all it takes is time and money! I saw a 341 desoto hemi that caught the ol eye! Whats the engine size on a 341 or something close as in comparison to a SBC???? Anyone know?

I can't remember off hand, and couldn't find it in my bookmarked sites, but there is a website that has V-8 and inline lengths. I Googled it and couldn't find it. It would be a good things for us to put together here.

On another note, I like your drive with this project. Keep it up, man.

A few of my key frame measurements:

Front of frame horn to end of rail: 115"
Firewall/bottom of cowl to front of frame horn: 40 & 1/2"
Firewall/bottom of cowl to front crossmember @ frame intersection: 27"
Cowl mounts to front crossmember @ frame intersection: 36"

Hope these help determine if it has been stretched, or maybe just help in general...
