I'm a retired machine designer and builder, and have been messing with cars since 1950. Sold off everything and moved to new (old) digs and we are now building our new shop. P.O.M. and I are doing everything ourselves and we are getting a little long in the tooth for this sort of thing, but we're gettin' it done. The milling machine is in the building and the air compressor is parked, but there is still much to do: final details on the building itself, plumbing in air, the wiring, benches, lights, etc. We have work lined up for the shop, once up and running, but once we get a handle on things, we have two car builds we want to do, one a model A pickup, the other a single seat car on the Indy roadster pattern. The hamb is the best thing I've seen yet.
Thanks for the welcome, guys. Falcon, the roadster project is still in the design phase. One of the real toe-stubbers is finding a suitable engine to design around. I've been thinking about starting a thread about it to get some advice and comments.
Welcome aboard Shake! They might not have told you yet but - the new guy has to buy a round for everybody. So - if you could order up 10,000 bottles of ***orted cold beer and 1 bag of beer nuts.....
Falcon- Yeah, a real Offy would really be something, but I'm afraid that it will remain forever in my dreams. I've spent a good part of today here at the hamb reading about the 230 c.i. Mercruiser banger with the 460 Ford head. Looks like this engine might work. It does have the intake on the starboard side, which I need. More reading tomorrow. The only other option I've been able to come up with is the 250 chev inline 6 with hybrid head. Howdy Gary- Only 10,000 bottles? Ah, ***on, we can do betternat!
