Onlychevrolets is right 4 inches longer. He will need a kit to lock up the converter in 4th gear. Try Larrys Electric in Ruma IL for a cheap kit.

  4. as already said it is longer...both overall length and the ****** mount location is farther back. i'm sure the existing mount could be modified. the 700R4 and a TH350 also use the same slip yoke , so just have the driveshaft shortened

No " kit" needed for lockup.... I do them every week without a kit. nothing to it. It will need a throttle pressure cable. The 700 uses TV pressure to set shift points.

200r4 is q much better fit, same length as the 350, just move the ****** mount, but really a '77 Impala wagon, not even close to being on topic.

I agree you don't need a kit but how do you rewire it to work without the computer that locks up the converter?

I got a kit from TCI for under 80 bucks to control the lock up. Easy to install. Some guys ignore the 4th gear lockup and risk overheating the ******. Why have an overdrive ****** if you don't use the overdrive?

fourth gear pressure port is located on the right side of the transmission its the secound port back from the front. A two wire open switch goes there then wire a key on with a drop out switch in line to one side and the TCC ( torque converter clutch) goes on the other side. With the drop out switch you can leave the TCC off in town . I've explained this on another post.
