I found a 1950 or so frazier car, 4-door. complete and rusted some, some emblems missing, has ***le. flathead six and a 3-speed. Is it worth fixing or making a rod out of?? i have more time than money. I am able to repair rust and do body work and all that is required to make it into a 50's lead sled too. any ideas? thanks, Hnery
Hi Hnery, How much are they asking? Check out my Kaiser, you could do something similar with a Frazer.
The Frazers and Kaisers are neat old cars. I've helped with restoration and maintenance on a 48 and 49. Mechanical parts are hard to find and can be expensive. Body parts are make your own. If you want something different go for it. When restored they float down the road. Jim
The early ones are barely worth their weight in s****, except for the oddball convertible and the traveler with the hatchback style deck. The later ones at the very least usually have a bumper guard/plate surround that's good for $75-$200 depending on which one it is. Being a 4dr you should expect to own it until the end of time anyways. Probably not a bad car to learn on. The original engines were Continental, used in forklifts and things for years, parts should not be that bad to find.
Hmmm, I've got some sort of a soft spot for the K-F cars ! You have to admit that Henry J Kaiser had lots of guts when he took up against Detroits "Big Three" ! Styling ( by Darrin) of the early cars is a bit "bland" though...
