Okay, I've done a search, both here and on the net, and I haven't found the answer. Forgive me if I missed it. Does anyone know if any full-size GM spindles will come close to working on a full size '63 Olds? I'm wanting to drop the car about 2", and go to front discs. I was thinking maybe dropped spindles for a big Chevy or something else might be a starting point. The disc swap really isn't too much of a hangup...I can fab adapters, etc. The real ****** is lowering it. I've got another pair of stock spindles to hack, and was also thinking of maybe cutting a coil or two, then relocating the upper control arm pickups to correct the geometry. Before I start cutting, I'd like to know if anyone has already done this. I'm not wanting the car in the weeds to show it, I'm just wanting to improve the handling. Thanks

Fatman's has some that may interchange w/ the other GM's. Or have the lower A-arm's stepped 2" and run it. My Chev was modified by So Low in OR. No problem's at all.

Iv seen dropped spindles made from welding two spindles together. Very common in the 50’s and 60’s and safe if done correctly.

Later disc brake spindles could probably be swapped in by using the later ball joints also.

Stepping the lower control arms is also a option.

full size chevs of the era were front steer the olds were rear steer if im not mistaken atleast they were on the 64 olds we did, most economic option is to step up the lower and pick up a set of scarebirds bolt on disc brake brackets, scarebird comes highly recommended by us!

Thanks thanks thanks. Splicing spindles or stepping the lower arms never occurred to me. I'll look into it. I've seen the scarebird parts, and they look good. Thanks again.
