Well actually, that original post was to hopefully offset some of the repeated common knowledge or what should be common knowledge posts about tires in general aswell as bickering that plaqued other threads with this subject to get to a fact based source you could draw your own thoughts from before buying these type of tires or deciding not to. That idea has failed as there are at least two newer threads, dragging up the same mud. So with that....

I grew up on bias wearing 55-59 NAPCO 4wd Chevy and GMC trucks and took my driver's test in my 60 Pontiac Ventura with US Royals on it. Which I promptly got a 100mph ticket with while trying to top the car out, so you won't find me knocking bias tires in general and unlike many I'll never be scared to run a decently made set on one of my cars in any weather.

However radials by design are far superior to any bias tire made of equal quality, in ride and handling characteristics. It is a rather plain fact, but I will agree that you can buy junk tires made either way, get a blem or something in general not worth it's salt. From hand laying cores, burning on caps, swapping them out, or simply owning a store selling them, a large part of my family has and does work in the tire industry so I've not seen it all but I'd say more than some. Private tours through Goodyear's R/D department and hanging out at the test track in Akron as a child are some good memories for me afforded by my grandfather and his buddies.

Even at that hanging out the rear on the old hardtop through a tight curve was more fun and took a bit more skill with the bias on it but a set of modern radials certainly stuck it to the road better, and were nice addition while driving it year round. This alone would still be enough proof otherwise for me but the car certainly looked better with the old tires.

  2. I have a 1400 lb car with me in it and 400 hp I run a 26x 8.8 MT I had a 26x 9" Hoosers but you had to do a John Force burnout to get them to hook. The MT's just need a light cleaning in the box and away I go. I swear by them at least to 9.76 @ 140

That wheel/tire combo would look rather ***y on my truck. I'm a tad jealous, haha.
