ok I braced it and cut it down 5 1/2"

The back lines up fine, all my cuts were very straight. but the A pillar width is different, I made my a-pillar cut high near the roof, so i wouldnt have to move the door hinges, but now the roof is wider by 3/16-1/4
(so about an 1/8 on each side)

I saw the dimensions of the window frame in the speedway catalog (since i dont have mine at my house right now) and it showed the top as considerably wider

but nobody seams to mention this in there chops, is it because i cut so much and so high up that the portion i cut out had the majority of the taper?

The body has had some rust repairs done previously, is it just that it was all pulled when they repaired, and i just relieved the tension? becuase i cant get it to budge

Thanks in advance for the help

you might want to split the upper a pillar.

Yes, this normal. I chopped mine 6". All I did was put vise grips on both sides and pull it in and tack it.

I have chopped several 33 and 34 pickup cabs, yes you do need to (small) pie cut slice the post up and down (about 4 inches) to make it flow evenly.Check your windshield frame fit before welding.Cross measure the windshield opening also before welding. It must be square. If it is off you may have to slightly bend the posts to correct. The body may be tweeked a little.Oh yea make sure you check your door alignment before final welding.

If it's only 1/8" on each side i don't think you would necessarily have to split the pillars unless you just wanted to. I think it'd be best to do what Blown34 said.

I seem to recall a large thread on this about a year ago. You might find it with a search. I was interested, because I chopped mine 3" & pie cut the pillars. Everything worked out fine. However, I do recall that chops over 3" cause vertical windshield alignment problems without some sort of trick surgery to the top header of the cab. I never really bothered to analyze the whole thing, since I was only going with a moderate chop, but you might want to check before you cut. That's a pretty wicked chop. I hope you not above average height or are channeling your truck.

im about 5 10, im channeling the height of the frame, i mocked it up with some boards and was suprised to how much room i had, im sure long trips will be unconfortable but ill cope,

And the 34 is a solid roof cab unlike the 32 and the model a so i dont have just a header, it is "suppose" to unbolt, but time and the elements has prevented that.

thanks for the info guys, i just needed the confirmation before i proceded
