Any HAMBers attending this event this year? "The Redliners" C.C., all HAMBers by the way, will be attending and having a meet and greet Saturday with the time and place to be announced later. Look for "The Redliners" and HAMB banner and stop by and say hello.
The Knuckle Draggers will be there as always. We usually camp down in the coral behind the SO_WHAT guys. Come down and say hey. We'll be looking for you.
as far as I know right now I will be there sat&sun. And other members of the Rollin Oldies will be there also
If I'm not busy as school I'll definitely come up. Maybe bring some friends, as ***berland is a bit of a hike.
A bunch of our crew will be there. It's funny...in the past couple of years there has been a strong showing of the younger traditional hot rod crowd. Which is very cool! I've been going to the show since about 87 or 88. Haven't missed one since. Anybody that wants to join in on the regatta just bring a raft. It's pretty cool to float down the river. Clark
That's the first "long distance" trip I took in my 40 back in 1979! My kids practiclly grew up at that fairgrounds. I haven't been for the last few years, but I'll be going back this year. Looking forward to it!
Thank you all for the kind words! I'm a member of WMSRA and thank you all for attending and helping to make the rod run the success we can all feel it is! If there's any way I can ***ist anyone, please feel free to I/M me. The club is having a meeting tonight to discuss diferent topics concerning the rod run and I'll p*** on the info here. Thank you again! Carl "Ranunculous"
Anybody that wants to join in on the regatta just bring a raft. It's pretty cool to float down the river. Clark
Hey Clark, Will you have a way to pump up say, an inner tube? When said young people you were referring to me, right?
Im in. Thats the maiden voyage of my 49 Fleetline. If you see a 49 with the hood up between Greensburg Pa (the pike) and the show that will be me. Ha Ha
I will be stopping in on Saturday, but only as a spectator. My wife's family all live in ***berland and LaVale. So She visits family and I go to the rod run.
Hey Clark, Will you have a way to pump up say, an inner tube? When said young people you were referring to me, right?
If we don't have a pump....we can use my truck to take them up to the gas station. I guess we're not as young as we think we are If we would only act our age.......nah!!!! Clark
rafting sounds like a great way to break the day up..what day and time does the rafting start? how long does it take? now the BIG question can you bring beer??? any word if they are gona put a port a john on the in field for the jousting..??
I went every year since 1989, made it a kinda family vacation, but the kids grew up, and I haven't been down in a few years. I sure did love that show though. bje31, I'm diggin' your avatar. That's my buddy Larry's old truck, you did a damned nice job on it.
Jay, They don't make rafts big enough to haul all of your beer! and Clark if I had to act my age I wouls stay home. BTW what time is **** darts?
do you think they will let me use a barge for all of my beer or is that too big? do we need to arange for a ride back to the fair grounds when the rafting ends??
Lotsa Old German beer floated down the Potomac, most of it was already processed... he he he UPDATE The drive in will be held Thursday evening in the parking area north of the fairgrounds. The film to be announced soon.It will no doubt be auto-related. $10 PER CARLOAD.If they're in the trunk, vents, under the hood,on the car/running board/etc-$10 per carload. I think the record is at least 10-12 souls aboard a vehicle? This is a seperate fee from your Rod Run registration as the movie fees (attempt) to pay for the movie venture. This is open to the public, hence the off-fairground location. Should inclement weather strike(fingers crossed for not) alternate viewing plans have been made. Any questions, need help? Give me an I/M....
The rafting consists of 1,2 or 3 beer rides. The 1 beer ride gets out neer the Nuckle Draggers by the coral. The 2 beer ride gets out near the backstretch of the track. The 3 beer ride gets out behind the ballfields......a sixpack will get you over the waterfall in ***berland No set time...just when we get hot and need a break. I guess we could come up with something there. You guys are practicing for the **** darts!!??!! Clark
we are ready for darts...ha ha.. no need to practice acting acting like a bunch of idiots comes natural after a couple of beers.
If you go over "the falls" at the Blue Bridge, you're all on your own in the great state of West-by-God-Virginia! God be with you! Ha!
I'm really looking forward to ***berland. My 48 will have a new coat of primer. Sorta taking a couple steps backwards with it. I gotta work on stuff for the auctions too! Clark
