Any one out there have any pictures of early Olds motor mounts in a model A or 32 Ford frame rails. Starting to do some research and start working on my car. I dont think anyone is making anything these days, just looking to get some ideas of what you guys have come up with.
Sets of Hurst ones pop up in the 'for sale' section every now and then. Do a search under Hurst and you will see them, they would be pretty easy to make.
I'm sure some guy sells re-pop ones on fleabay..... I got some NOS Hurst still in the box with all bolts and instructions from a guy over here, asked how much, £25 say's he, ($40).. I bought em so quick his hand is still attached to the box . . Here ya go matey. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Olds...ies?hash=item35a2ab0461&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245
here's a couple shots of fitting the Hurst mounts in my A frame first fab and tack frame brackets and second a rear shots after welding gussets to the boxed frame you'll notice my motor is set back a bit
Official Hurst catalog combo for '28-34 was the mounts shown on engine above, which replicate the mounting dimensions of a 59A flathead, pair of '37-48 Ford mount biscuit ***emblies, and a pair of A-28 frame mounts. The latter are simple bolt-ons that support holes for biscuits as the ones above, but they are longer and meant to bolt into the frame channel of a stock frame.
there is also the C-T style like the copies in this picture and GOATROPER02 sells his own version too
Hello There: I put a 394 early olds block in a 29 model A frame. I simply welded a 3 inch flat bar to each side of the frame, following the contours of the front cross member. I then ground Off the lip that is on the original cross member. It gave it a smooth look. The engine had the center mount so all I did was drill 2 holes in this additional piece. It set the engine back a bit, but that was OK. Ian F
