I thank everyone for the kind words of encouragement, the hero status may be a little overboard. I feel that anyone in our situation should have or would have stepped to the line. I had numerous times to step back and not go through with my end, but I never hesitated. I was on the table ready to be put under and they asked me one last time and I just said let's do it.
I'd like to think that most everyone would step up in that situation. Unfortunately, you actually had to man up and do it where-as most of the rest of us only have to say that we would. I'd call you a hero too. Willing to give "anything" for your brother. He probably thought you were one too. My condolences on your loss.
So sorry for your loss. May he R.I.P. I lost a brother in '05 and I know the pain. You and your family are in our prayers.
Hi Clyde, Really sorry to hear the news about your brother. May the Good Lord bring you and your family peace and comfort in the days ahead...duane
I had a good day, today got out and about. Went and met with a good friend of both mine and Darrin's, his name is Jason Paule. Jason is a custom fabricator, mainly in the 4X4/ rock crawling scene. Well, Jason had helped Darrin with many of the fabrication challenges he had with his Tudor build. So my father and me decided that he would be the best to finish the project, beings I am 6-8 months away from being back in the garage. So maybe I can do a good thing and finish my brother Tudor and bring it out to a few shows to help spread the Traditional Hot Rod Gospel. Thanks, Clyde
Clyde, If you want, I think I speak for many who would donate money, time, or transportion help to see you make a pass in Darrin's Tudor at next year's HAMB Drags. God's Best to you all, Chuck
Finishing your brothers project would make your brother smile, as well yourself! I wish you miles of smiles as you take her down the road, as I am sure your brother will be riding with you. There is no doubt you two will be together in spirit. Altho' I do not know either of you ... you were the truest brother a brother could ever ask for. You my friend, are a good man to have stepped up for your brother. Like someone else said many would say they'd step up, but when the times came would they really. You did, be proud and may every mile bring you a smile of good time memories! God Bless.
I remember him from the short track. Nice guy. Always kind of quiet when my pit. I'll be watching Jason and Brian to see the progress. So sorry for your loss....Jack
