Here's my '37 Chevy with a 51 Olds cluster. I still need to add polished accent strips in the vent areas once I decide how I want them.
This is not custom dashboards but its a lot of cool dashboards. Restoration stuff. From Mr. Bvlgari's collection. A big video hope it plays. http://www.woodgraining.com/BIGVIDEO/ Jdee
I shortened and reshaped a 1936 Chevy truck dash to fit and used a GMC military gauges insert for my 1930 Durant Before
52 Buick dash in my 40 Chevy. I had to section it down in about 10 pieces to get the gauges to be centered over the column and spaced evenly. The center grill is from the 40 chevy dash.
This is the dash we customized for our '53 Chevy: Or check out this thread for the complete experience! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=386698 Klaus
I like all of the dashes shown so far. Does anyone have any pictures of a custom dash for a 61 Coupe DeVille? I would love to change mine.
This is the 49-50 Ford Dash I picked up to use in my OT Sled project. It had to be narrowed about 9 inches to fit. Took out about an inch or so to the left of the large main gage bezel in order to get the gage centered on the steering column. Also took out about 4" on either side of the speaker grill to get the width right and save the grill and the clock location. This is what it replaced... and here it is installed...
Heres the dash I made for my 27. I used the model T top rail and formed the bottom half to curve around my Champion gauge panel.
I've showed this before. But it is a 51 buick dash narrowed 12 inches. Using all the stock guages, glove box, and buick door trim molded to the dodge door trim. Mounted in a 38 dodge pickup cab, or what's left of one,,,John
This is the dash in my '29.I filled the stock dash then cut the centre out. Then I 'turned' some stainless on a drill press and installed it from the the rear of the dash.I've since re-done the insert with the outer gauges a little lower.
This is my dash. I started with a "*****in" dash then modified it to fit cleaner. The top, bottom and center are separate so it is very adjustable. I purchased Cl***ic "Vintage" gauges, cream faces with red pointers. The gauges are 3.5" in diameter. The headlight and wiper controls are clunky and they will be changed soon to be hidden. I have a "start ****on" on the dash from a 1950's airplane. The Clock on the right side of the dash is my own creation. When purchasing the gauge pack, I ordered an addition cluster that was empty. I scanned the existing background in on the computer and made my own clock face. Placed a continuous sweep quartz movement behind and it's done. The Chevrotlet script on the dash is from a 1958 Impala glove box. When installing the A/C, I sheet formed a panel that bolted it to the bottom of the dash. This houses the A/C controls, vents and Stereo. The lower dash also helps to conceal the condenser under the dash. Lower left drilled aluminum handles open the hood and trunk.
