I have read through the posts after searching for this trans. and now I am as confused as ever.
here`s what I have a 1958 chevy fleetside pu with a 1960 283, 700r4 trans from a 1986 2wd suburban, it has the same spline as the 350 that was in the truck when bought. just a note, it had a b.o.p. 305 and a 350 trans that someone in new mexico junked in, scary as hell.
it will be running the 2d projection by holly and has the proper brackets for the tv cable, that part I understand, when it come to the lock out or lockup is where there is an overload of info and a dozen different ways of doing this.

i was a good plumber and a decent mechanic before retireing, but this is outright confusing... anyone with an easy way to accomplish this, HELP..

    thanks Mike Bourg

  2. not to be a smart alec or anything but...

the easiest way is to buy a kit from B&M or speedway that has the instructions.

  3. i was a tech in a former life..what did you need to know about lockup? how to accomplish it?..

Give Glenn at Rebel wire a shout. He has a lockup kit that lets you work without the computer. But, if your going to use a projection system you will have a coumpter.

Kind of sound like you need a fresh start with the BOP stuff mixed in

If you are asking about the 12 volt hook up I know of only two ways one is a single 12 volt hookup to the ignition. Most aftermarket trans suppliers recomend this. The other way is to have A switch that is mounted to your brake pedal that discontinues the 12 volt power to the converter when the brake pedal is depressed most factory cars including corvettes has this type. A friend has a 200 4 r with a single 12 volt hookup from phoenix trans and it works fine with a computer injected engine. hope this helps..John ----- p.s. like your pics of all the shows.

A little clarification, the B.O.P. stuff is gone, long gone, and the holley 2d projection system is for 275 horse and lower, the computer will only control the injection system. and I will contact rebel as that is who I purchased my wiring for the truck from.. and thanks to all..

on the p***enger side of the transmission the second pressure port back from the front is the fourth gear ac***ulator , screw in a two wire open switch into it. Run one lead to a key on hot (also could have a switch for in town driving) the other lead to the plug on the drivers side. from inside the case run from that wire over to the TCC solenoid. it has two wires one to ground and the other to the switch . its really that easy I've done probably a hundred this way. If you add that in town switch you can keep the TCC off when running red light to red light, then on the highway flip it on and lock up... hope this helps
This method compliments of... only chevrolets...
