wax without silicone...

Silicone. That one word can strike fear in the hearts of those who paint or do body work. I'll never forget the time time I was playing with my girlfriend's hair which was exceptionally nice that day. I asked what she had used in it, and she replied 'silicone conditioner'. You guys should of seen the look of horror on my face since I was in the garage working on a paint project at the time.

Anyways, I know its impossible to avoid all silicone in life on car products, but I like to avoid those I know contain silicone, especially on a project car.

I have a current coupe project almost done. Part of the car is old dead paint which I'll need to buff and wax to get some life to it. Since I may re-shoot those parts at some point in the future, I really don't want to use a wax that contains silicone. A trip to the local auto parts store was very unclear what contained what.

Any guys here have some suggestions to a liquid wax that does not have silicone in it?

You can use a Final glaze like what 3M has got.. or another paint suppliers product.. a little goes along ways.. you dont have to load it up.. if you sand prior to refinishing.... it is always good practice to wash and wipe with wax and grease remover.. just dont use a teflon style wax or carnuba.. that soaks in to the finish you apply it on.. you should be safe.. the more you apply, the more work it takes to remove.. try not to get the rubbers or seams loaded up with wax.. that just means more work..

There's a product called Buffalo Milk that shines pretty good and has no silicone in it. Years ago I used it on all my cars. It can be used on gl***, rubber, and plastic too. I think you have to buy it on the internet. I've never seen it at a local store.
