Ok well thought I would share some photo's of a famous car that is owned by Ed Hegarty and was built by Brian B. by Magoo some time ago, well this car is built to 1/8 scale and is all steel, the car started life as one of Jack Stirnemann real stuff 32 Ford Roadster, it was put to gether by Jack as a static model but Ed wasn't quite finished yet, he wanted it to be as real as he could get it so we got to talking and the search was on for a exact scale model Ferrari engine and trans and a quick change rear end, you see it all had to be metal with no plastic stuff on the car.So I ran down a friend in Longmont Colorado who has ties across the pond and he ran down the engine and tranny and he got to install them, then back to me for the Drive shaft and the wire wheels and they are exact to whats on the real car, 72 spoke wheels in 1/8 scale, so it's very close to finished just need to make a cover for the floor board by the trans to clean it up.Enjoy.Chris

Very very nice. Not to highjack the thread, but what all do they make in 1/8 scale here in the US? As far as availability goes? I remember the Big T and I had a 1/8 scale Deuce at one time, but never got past the "roller" stage and gave it to grandson....

Dont know if anyone has ever seen one of the Stirnemann Bros 1/8 scale 32 roadsters or not but there unbelivable. They live here in St. Louis and are super guys with a lot of talent.
I actually saw the real one being driven on the salt at Bonneville years back. I recall thinking " are you out of your F#@*%ng mind !!!!!!"
I originally saw the motor in Dennis Varnie's roadster. he and Cub and One of the Walsh bros brought it to El Mirage for their first time at the Dry Lake. We pitted togeather and I let them warm up at my camp fire. the car wasn't painted yet. On Sunday Dennis ran it and came back to announce it was to slow. The V12 was comming out and a Blown BBC was going in. I was horiffied. But now that car is the Walsh, Walsh and Cusack very fast street roadster. It looked neater with the 12.

The one walsh and varni were driving was the second car built, race only....it had a gtc/4 v12---it has always been a race car---brian had it done by attebury and tolliver---it later became the walsh roadster
TDR just came out with a bunch of new 1/8 scale engines including a big block chevy and a 392 HEMI with a bunch of options. They also have the 426 version of the HEMI.
When I was 15 I talked my mom into making a trip up to the Hobby shop when they brought the Big T to town to promote the models. I never did buy the model but that caused me to want to build my own T bucket. We also made it around to the Studebaker dealer that day to see the first new Avanti that had been on display.
Excellent model Woody , I remember Magoo doin' the build for Brian Burnett years ago , from memory Dick lengthened the chassis 4 inch's at the firewall area , did you scale that to this one ? 1/8 scale .......great work cheers Steve in Oz
