50 chrysler vs 49 dodge Hoods

HAMBurglers,

Anyone know if the hoods between a 49 Dodge and a 50 Chrysler are close enough? I want to find a 50 Chrysler Hood Ornament to use rather than the Ram from my 49.

Also, the hood grille trim - would the Chrysler's work to blend into my Dodge grill sides? Reason being - I want to delete the name script on the Dodge hood.

I don't think so. The Chrysler cars were bigger. Dodge/DeSoto were in between, and Plymouths were the smallest. I mean, you can get anything to work, but I doubt that they would bolt on and blend in as easily and seamlessly as you might want.

Probably not, but if you have all the parts on hand, eyeball them and let us all know.

 

Well..I scored a 50 Chrysler hood orn to set on my 49 Dodge..the profile is pretty close to matching..the screw holes are different so once the new holes are made in the hood..I think it will match up nicely from my eyeballing it. Just like the flying lady better than the ram..
