Use to have some and they were just rubber balls with bathroom chain connecting them. I would try toys R us store or any toy shop for the balls and the chain at most hardware shops or plumming supply's

I think they're just plain balls found in a toy store. You'll have to add the chain yourself. Bill

I Know how you feel, we couldn't find balls for the Scorpion carbs. Kids don't play with red balls anymore. We found that red hand balls fit 2-1/4" headers and stromberg carbs. The chain comes from hardware store. Stick an expanding wall fastiner in the ball and screw chain on.

We used the little red balls that came attached to paddles with a rubber band...were kids toys...don't know if anyone makes them anymore...then attached them with the chains you found in plumbing stores to attach the sink drain to the sink...ran an awl through each ball (and once almost through my hand!) to make a hole to run the chain through.

I wish someone would start reproducing the rubber covers for the hilborns. I have a set of originals but they are getting a little worse for wear.

You can get the "orange" balls at a toy store( do they still have them?) The chain at a hardware store & use cotter pins to hold them on.

  15. I have searched every toy store in Houston for three years and NO ONE has them anymore. And, most of the people working at these stores have no idea what you are talking about. Thier too young.

No no they have to be official Hillborn stack balls in official orange, they come up on ebay from time to time, and the chains are usually listed under "Hillborn ball chain" ... if you find a a ball and chain it might be mis-listed under Social Distortion or possibly Janis Joplin, these things are scarce and expensive but don't settle for toy balls or toilet chains.

These are hemi Hilborn stack with orange nerf balls. You can't use a chain, but they do a good job of keeping the dirt out. Just and FYI - after several years in the sun you will need to replace as they start to deteriorate...

I have found that the balls used in the McDonalds playrooms seem to be the right size for my ram tubes. My wife got some at Toys R Us. Bill

Somehow this is the first time I've seen this post but I have been there. If you go to my website www.mrchevynut.com I have a story about them on there. In short, they don't exist anymore! It is hard to understand or comprehend they are just red rubber balls, every toystore has them, right? NOT! I looked for over 3 months to find some, I got to the point of asking everyone I knew to keep an eye out. I finally found mine on ebay and the price was right, about $12 a dozen, shipping included. Less than a month after I bought them, my son was in Mexico city, Mexico at a factory down there. He knew I was looking for them so he gave me a call. He said they had pallet sized crates of them, thousands! Needles to say, I already had mine. They are a very realistic replacement of the balls from the '60's in both size and color. The chain used if you can still find it at the hardware stores is plumbing stopper chain. A modern upgrade that is nearly undectable but very strong is to use a short drywall anchor in them to put the screw eye into.
