I don't care about bad rep's with one individual. The King Pin's need EVERYONES support. Now i want to make this clear, I am not on here to trash anyones opinions on this Car shows past. I just love this shows attendance of cars.... or should I say the QUALITY of those that show up. YES better media and or any sort of ADVERTI*****T needs to improve greatly. The King Pins will get er' resolved. Finally, "Cool stuff" ..... I sincerely apologize to you if you felt that I was "Flamin' ya" While we have yet to meet.... I consider you a friend! I apologize and look forward to seeing ya at the show!Thank you to EVERYONE I look forward to RUBBIN' ELBOWZ wit all of you!!!
Hmmm...I live right by the fairgrounds too...short notice on finding out about the date for this year.....hmm..5 days to get my **** together....don't think that's gonna happen
hey mean yellow z - what do you need help with ? well if I can help let me know - otherwise you should still drop in at the fairgrounds-hope it is cleaned up after the fair just got finished - there is also a cruise night after the show at Northpark mall -with a band that same night too - hope all can attend and get this show the support that it needs - maybe some guy from Bettendorf will stop by and lend some more coverage on his next DVD - just kiddin with COOLSTUFF-he will be there - hey Kingpins - do you need any help setting up?
yes - I will be down there with camera in hand - hope to see some more cars in action - the flyer says there will be a burnout pit? is that true? if so - where will that take place? and I did not see the North Park mall cruise in on the Quad City cruisers page - so is that really happening that night?
Ill probably walk down there. If you drive a few blocks down Locust I'm the guy who always has some sort or junk all over, across from Uncle Bills pizza...I'm trying to throw my 59 GMC together as a daily driver right now, but I'm usually too backed up with other stuff to work on...
You can bash the shakedown....it ****ed anyway. We don't think we will do it next year. We just had a bunch of late models, rat rods and drunks show up. Hopefully this one goes better than ours did. Far as this one, it looks cool. If I am recovered by then, I may try to make it down.
I think one of the Kingpins was at Symco - flat black & flamed '58 Prinz air-cooled microcar? Nice! I didn't see any flyers there, but I wasn't looking and haven't gone through my goodie bag yet either!
Bruce and those guys, yep, but are they the same ones or with the ones in the Quad Cities who are helping with the Flying Eyeball? I sure didn't see or hear them pimping the show. But then they were probably too busy having a good time . BTW if everyone goes from our little group that I think is going, I count 17 right now. Could turn out to be a fun time!
hey mean yellow z I am the guy on Lincoln Ave behind Hy-vee with the 33 Yellow coupe or the black & gray primered 40 Chevy 2dr sedan with Mr Krude on the trunk lid and tags that idles by looking at your next project sitting by your shop or to see if the nova/chevy II has any MORE turbos hooked to it -haha
One year it Bombed because of the weather,I have went a couple yeras before and it wasn't a bad show had a good time and got to see some local rods and people were nice to talk to no one gave you any **** about asking questions about their cars but some had no clue caus ethey never touched them they just bought them and drove them but all in all a decent show for the midwest and its reall close to me!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha....figured you would have at least seen my place, seems like everyone always looks over in p***ing. I finally sold what was left of the Chevy II after my fun was done with it. Most of the stuff I put together isn't real friendly for this board since its fuel injected/ turbo'd, but oh well...it pays the bills so I have to keep doing it Im looking forward to getting my old GMC driveable and its gonna be my main driver except in the snow. Its a little ways from moving, but hopefully soon it will be roughly together enough to drive around. Stop by if you are out cruising...I've def. noticed the yellow one going by!
Mean Yellow Z!!!!! You have been a FRIEND and A BROTHER to me since I can remember! What can I do to help you with your GMC!?? You have HELPED so many with their stuff....... it is time to HELP you with somethingof yourz!!! Let me know!!!!! PM me!!! SOMETHING!!!
.....oh, but I have a project for you my son!....lol...I might need someone to come airbrush something big and cool on the wall in the new YatesEFI shop.....you game???
Well if anyone cruises in on I-280 and comes in on West Locust, look on the left after the two gas stations and check out my 59 GMC because that's as close as it's going to get to the show Last year I was there with my 72 Chevy truck and my 62 Chevy II, looks like this year Ill be there in my sneakers
MEAN YELLOW Z...... You know me!!!!!! I am GAME BRUTHA!!!!!! We'll hafta come up with some "DEMENTED EFI INJECTED FREAK" to tag DAT WALL with!!!! Call me!!!!
MeanYellowZ I remember your 72 truck. ( I think.) Would have love to have it. Glad to hear the guys from Pella are coming.
Stick Shift are you actually going to drive a vehicle to enter?!? It's supposed to be around 90 degrees. Are you going to make it w/out AC and cruise control? Looking forward to seeing ya.
Hey hey now. The daily's air and cruise both quit working on the way to the Rust Revival. LOL Yea the truck has not been out much this year with the longer distance to work. I did drive it to work one day, 100 miles. It made it to a few places, just not the big ones. Yea Jeff and I are coming down, no radios, cruise or air. I think I might even have the mini bike running by then too.
see the problem with this show is the advertising. I drive ALL THE CITY streets in Davenport and I have yet to see anything about this except it popped up on my screen tonight. I had some plans for the weekend but I might have to change them and finish some drywall and other stuff on Sunday. I will atleast make an appearance for a couple hours. I won't have a ride this year again (bought a new house outside of town- worth more than having a running ride). But I'll be there to financially support the show. Wish there were more flyers and so forth to advertise. I think this will be a great turn around to a show that had a black eye in the past. Looking forward to seeing you guys there. Jarrad
does anyone know who is actually running the show this year? is it ALL of the Kingpins - or just some of them?
all I have seen is the flyer-have not heard from any of the Kingoins and some of them have posted on the HAMB-just have been quiet lately -I didnt make it over to King"s Plaza cruise a couple of weeks ago -I have the day off from work and will be home toying around out in the shop most of the day het PoPo maybe our paths will cross finally - mean yellow Z I saw you had acrowd out there last night with the 58 hanging out in the driveway -everyone coming in on Locust st from 280 should know he will be at the 2nd set of gas stations across from the High School not the burned out gas station by the projects those cars all have 22" and up wheels on them
I got my hours at work moved aroun for this week so I will probably be workin on Saturday but will try to make it over from the cedar rapids area in either the ****gen wagen or the frazer... If I can find a driver may be both will show up. There ya go Breeder get to my place and actualy show up to an event and drive through the gate
Ya were Kingpins pretty much but it looks like only my brother in the wagon and the lil car will be over there out of our group. Too much stuff going on this weekend to get away for everybody else. You guys going to Greaserama? Thats up there but still not the show the Shakedown was! And again HELL YES we'll be back to Symco next year!! Hopefully it won't rain on us. Camping wasn't to bad but the drive home really ****ed. The wife still found some water sitting in my seats a few hours ago!! Take some pictures and post them, really wanted to go this year as my old 61 Fury was there last year and I wanted to see that car again.
