I scored a great copy of this, from Zach Suhr. What a great guy to deal with, too. Megan will probably be jealous now.;) Veda Orr, has to be the most famous woman in Hot Rodding, and this pictorial and the story of her life need to be made into a "Major Motion Picture":D

I score alot of really good knowledge from the HAMB every time I log on.

That is worth it weight in gold alone.

I was going to say I've made some great friends like Denise (HRLC) and Zach Suhr but maybe I'll change my answer now that I've read that!:p:D

I agree with Von Rigg Fink's first post on this thread. The like minded people, the excellent knowledge base, the cool pictures, and the deals that I have bought and sold on here.

I scored a little space in my shop when I gave a 265 chevy block to someone whos name I forget. drives a red F-1.

tried to sell it on craigs list and ebay.... good standard bore block in need of a rebuild. talked with 3 tri 5 restorers and none were interested because it had the wrong date code. 56 block, but the wrong month. ****in restorers.

I've been scoring lots of good information, meeting some really nice people, having a great time and I just brought my truck home from Texas.

Hey Mike, your welcome!! And i tried a few times to get you in that damn thing before you paid me for it too! You wouldn't have it...your mind was made up.. :):)
It went to the right guy! And i know EXACTLY what you mean about the '**** IT' feeling and taking a ride :D
I had a good time behind the wheel of that truck..

Personally i've 'scored' a bunch of stuff from fellow HAMBers, both in parts and friendships..parts wise, too much to even begin to list. I can say i got a lot of parts for the truck i just built from guy's on here..Without all these guy's helping with missing stuff i'd still be in the garage working on it.

Bought my '62 Suburban three or four years ago for $2K from a HAMBer. Unrestored. He said it'd drive from Joplin, MO to Atlanta, and it did! It's been my daily driver since, while I've been upgrading and rebuilding it.

Also got a screaming deal on a complete 425 Nailhead 2x4 set-up. There's been a bunch of other things, too, but those stand out right now.

MAN ...what can I say finding the HAMB has been one of those great things in life that you cant put a price on, I've learned more abought traditional Hot Roding in the past few months than I learned my entire life, every time I read an article I have "scored" somthing off the HAMB, I have a head full of ideas now and just need a clean canvas, so to speak, to get going on my version of a home built tradional Hot Rod. It will happen sooner or later, I own post 65 Fords so I have nothing to offer as far as knowlege or projects to share, I figured an alliance membership was in order to at least give something back to the HAMB community.
thanks fellow hambers for sharing your knowlege and history

My '56 Plymouth wagon, and the grille ***embly for it, have been my best ones, so far.

In terms of advice, there has been a whole lot of stuff posted on here that I didn't know, and I'm pretty knowledgeable. I love learning new **** about hot rods! That is THE best thing I've learned about being on here.
