i have been seing alot of cars on here with a real flat looking black paint. do you use primer or a paint. Whats the best to use. Im deciding between the black and the maroon color for my bike.thanks
i'm having the body of my car painted with SEM "Trim Black" paint. it's what they use on exterior trim pieces on new cars. it's a flat black and there's really no need for a clear coat. plus this stuff is available in a spray as well. so when it gets scratched, bust out the spray can and no one will ever know. just a suggestion
My presonal Favorite is Storm Shutter Enamal I figure if it'll hold up to Storms it's good enough for me. Besides you can use a roller to put it on let it sit for two days and wet sand, looks sprayed WITHOUT the runs.......
The John Deere paint is called "blitz black". It's kind of a satin black. I actually bought some for my Buick, but haven't painted it yet. I'll be posting pictures of it when it's done, but that might not be until spring. Here is a car painted with blitz black that I found on the 'net.

I'd agree to that. Sanding the trim stuff off is intresting too. That said, my car was painted with the SEM trim stuff and has flames painted over it... so who knows? Can I recommend not going with flat black?
This question come's up aleast once a month. There need's to be a 'Once and for all' thread that offer's up in stage's the cheapest to the most involved (time, money, ect). Longest lasting, sigle stage, two-part, ect. Flat, semi, and high gloss blk's. Without a doubt, thread will be added to, as product's become refined.
