did a search. found out how to make 15" into 16" with trim rings. but didn't find anything on full hubcaps to fit 16" wheels. so does anyone know of a cool looking cap that i could use on 16" wheels? if not i'll be using center cap with trim ring or center spyder caps. thanks

  4. I did the tech on the trim ring to 15"s. There is not much out there at all, the only ones i have seen are the Packard one.s on sloppy seconds A coupe, by they are with wire wheels I think. If you do a search (you prob have already) on e-pay you will see some for 16" that are some strange makes, but useable, the only thing i am not sure of is if they are not true 16" covers, much like the wide 5 pattern wheel covers, they dont attach to the outer lip. let us know if you find something, coz as it stands now I will be doing the 16" trim ring to 15" cap that you saw.
    Good luck.

There are Caddy Sombreros that are 16", off of '48 limos. Not easy to find, but there aren't many full caps out there that look good. I read somewhere that they are repopped, though.

thanks chrisman the 48 limo thing is new to me. i'll check it out. so far the only hubcaps for 16" wheels i've found are the aftermarket plain chrome bubble like the hollywood flipper but without the flipper. maybe i'll make a flipper and screw it on from behind. the biggest problem i've found looking for hubcaps is that the advertised 16" caps are really for 15" wheels. so for right now it looks like trim rings and caps.

Hirsch Auto sell the sombreros. Way too pricey for me, but they sure would look good on your coupe. They show up on ebay now and then, though. Good luck!

Is this for your '35 in your avatar?
If so, what about something for the stock wire wheels..... Spun , Lyon, etc.
