    S. Clay Wilson, Big Bad Bob Williams, Coop, Anthony Ausgang, ****, Pete Millar, Franco, Weesner, Mouse, Gilbert Shelton, Crumb, there's really a pile of them ... I dig Sara Ray's stuff too. And let me throw out a vote for Bawidamann and his pin-ups.

And if we're talking guys who could draw women, the top two in my hit parade have to be Bill Ward and Al Capp. Neither are Kulture in the modern sense of it, but man, those two knew their way around those dangerous curves. Ward's women are phenomenal, and L'il Abner's Daisy Mae (not Daisy Duke) was off the charts.:D:D:D

  3. i was gona say i like em all when i thoght of some of the **** ive seen in those other magazines. williams has always been a huge favorite. another great artist, a bit ot but i think its related is HR Giger.

  4. so is HR Giger a kulture artist? been waitin for someone to say yes or no. i think the bio mech style is very cool. not really trad, but art for gearheads nonetheless. if you dont know who he is, hes the guy who designed the original "alien" from switzerland and the grandfather of bio mechanical art.

They're ALL great talented artists for a host of different reasons, including all the guys that build the rods and customs that turn out so special that we copy these cars, and use their ideas 50 years later.....IMHO, this whole hobby is about art, and self expression, and the guys who put it on the paper definitely keep the juices flowing........

Am I the first to mention Max Grundy? I love that poster art style. 60's Roth shirts then Williams' stuff in Hot rod in the 70's, remember 'Devil with a hammer...' centerspread? got me into drawing....Recent stuff, Coop, Weesner, Tidwell and got to mention fellow brit Froggit, he's our best export!
