A year ago I would visit Hamb Cl***ified Cars for Sale Section. There were many reasonable priced projects. What Happened? But now it seems like the door has been opened for 80% overpriced projects. $45,000 needs interior bump bump bump. $23,000 needs paint, interior and without these wheels bump bump bump. $3,200 for a pile of rusty dented sheet metal,(no frame) that is listed as Cars for sale. Hmmmmm I know I am going to get heat for this and people will say. "Do you know what it costs to build a car" Yes I do and so do most people on here. (used motors etc) I even saw two cars today listed, but not for sale, just listed as for sale in an Auction and gave a link to their Auction. Am I the only one who sees this? What do you think?
Think some of it may be ,,folks who were building to sell or who got projects and paid to much are feeling the crunch and trying to get out from under or break even.. just a though you have those who just pick up cars to turn over who think the market is still gun ho and its not,,also things being so 'trendy' cars that were the hot ticket last fall and were going for crazy $$ in any condition ,,are'nt the craze anymore,,so again,,people stuck with cars trying to unload,,or sell so they can get whats currently 'cool'
If you think the prices are too high, go on to the next ad. No one is forcing y0u to buy anything here, or anywhere else, for that matter. The nice thing about a free marketplace is that if the price is too high, it will sit unsold. If the price is right, someonw will buy it. What, are we supposed to have price controls in the cl***ifieds now??? "Oops, that's too darn high, we'll have to delete that ad!"...Don't think so.
I think people ought to quit griping and use the tools that have been given to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. This is not the way.
You find that everywhere. Some people have unrealistic expectations. Not much you can do about it though, except don't buy it. If you are really patient you can still find something reasonable every once in a while.
